What do people think of the Star Wars transformers?

With the exceptions of the heads, I like the imperial shuttle and the yellow jedi starfighter as robots. That yellow guy's alt mode looks very cybertronian seeker-esque. But, yeah, they ALL have their flaws.

AND ENOUGH WITH THE JEDI FIGHTER REPAINTS HASBRO! It's the most kibble heavy mold and it gets 5 versions (counting the vader/obiwan 2 pack).

i hate to beat a dead horse but..... we can't have 3 seekers and 3 coneheads.... and we get 5 of these...

I wanted to have at least one of these guys but my interest and money is just never there.

The Blotty truthiness of this revelation made me laugh a little.

The complete lack of TFs on the shelves and the Jedi Starfighters warming the shelves makes me think that I am not arriving at the same conclusion you did.

We're not talking about movie toys; we're comparing TF Classics to SWTFs. In fact, IIRC there's a bunch of old Classics backstock that's on the shelves now. And I remember, prior to the movie coming out, seeing a huge backlog of Classics that just weren't going anywhere. I've never seen SWTFs marked down, but I've definitely seen Classics marked down. Which makes sense of course, given that kids buy SWTFs and adult collectors bought Classics. It's a much larger market. And that was my point. The number of people who actually care about getting a blue and black repaint of Starscream is probably pretty darn small, from a mass retail perspective.

Oh, No! Dont bring BOTCON 07 back

Ok I hear that - except i wasnt really referring to the botcon set. I was referring to seekers in a more general sense.

Cause basically you have repaints or you have repaints.

And at least around here - i didnt see classics really shelfwarming so much. In fact i thought a bunch of reports were that Classics sold better than expected.

The Jedi Starfighter is probably the strongest SWTF mold out there. But I still think the number of repaints on it is disporportionate to its actual value.

This is where I have to disagree. IMHO the mold is the most kibbled mold of the whole line. The whole robot is contained within the egg of a cockpit. Had they used the wings as part of the arm or leg transformation it would have been better. Also the arms/hands could use a lot more articulation... had they just given him full wrist rotation it would have improved the figure tremendously. So my complaint about the 5 versions is partialyy due to my feelings about this mold.

But I can almost guarantee that none of those shelfwarmers were seekers. Starscreams were near impossible to find and Ramjets weren't filling the shelves either.
