Well, don't forget, that a lot of the time, when a novel/comic adaptation is done based on a movie script, they have to have it well in advance. So the copies that were used might have been ones that were later tweaked by the writers for the movie. A script is modified even when the storie's been written. There are one the spot changes, an idea that the producer/director has that maybe they can work in there to replace something that they don't like, but still get the idea across. Or the actor/actress says something about a certain scene/line and the writers change it.

And since manuscripts go through a whole lot of changes, it's not going to be 100% like the movie. There's going to be stuff that's either in or not in the movie and vice versa with the book. The same can go for a comic adaptation.

So ultimately, even though the book and comic depict Barricade as being a casulaty, in all actuality, when it comes to the actual movie itself, they may have changed it at the last minute to make it so he survived, and the book and comic writers will have to adjust the story so that they can explain how Barricade survived his bout with Prime. Maybe his head has a similar thing like Frenzy's and wandered over to his body and he slowly healed. But it had healed enough so that he wouldn't be picked up by the government planning to dump the rest of the Decepticons when they came to get Bonecrusher's remains. So he transformed and drove away and is now waiting for any Decepticon survivors.

Who knows.

Who knows.

We'll only know for sure if he gets a death scene on the DVD or if he shows up again in the sequel.

Agreed to waiting for the sequel.

This movie made for some sloppy, loose threads (Brawl becoming Devastator anyone?) and I figure its because there's decisions being made at each level for changes. His death might have been scripted but editing can shave off much...and we're not dealing with Scorsese's editor either :07laugh (film snobs are chuckling...I assure you).

The maker's of the comic adaptations are allowed some creative leeway and do take liberties. A friend of a friend of mine was responsible for the Revenge of the Sith adaptation. He received material WAY in advance and was given a basic plot guidline...somethings can be tweaked here and there so long as the basic plot isn't altered. Characters can come and go at random...and often with more finesse than on screen.

It's a comic adaptation... ultimately the movie itself is the most correct version.

Thanks for the clarification. :thumb

Then why did they call Brawl Devastator in the movie when Hasbro told them to call him Brawl?

It's both a mistake and a headache.

Is there any chance you could remove the spoiler from the thread title please? The UK still hasn't seen the movie & therefore may not be aware of Barricade dying.

*just changed it*

sorry about that

It'll happen a lot & hopefully I'll spot 'em all (& moan!) before the other UK peeps. Cheers dude! :thumb
