I saw two kids crying out side already running shows

Funny how the movie is to mature for some kids, yet they make the toys for the kids. The movie is aimed at the adults but the adults can't complain about the toys because many keep saying how the toys are aimed at kids and not to adults, though the movie is aimed at adults.

Actually, this movie seems to be aimed at children too. There's plenty of adult humor, but a lot to offer children as well. It seems to be more of a "family" movie than a movie aimed at just adults or just children. My 6 yr old loved the movie and was quiet through almost all of it, which is a first.

I just came back from my second viewing of the movie about 20 minutes ago, and I got to say, there were a fair amount of kids there. And I think the youngest seemed around five years old. I didn't hear anything except for a few whispers from the people next to me. But no kids crying.

I heard plenty of kids laugh when

BB "lubricated" on Agent Simmons (John Toturro)

. Bathroom humor at such a young age. I felt a tear come to my eyes out of sheer...well, it wasn't happiness, it was more along the lines of dissapointment that kids that young got the joke. I'm pretty sure they were laughing more because their parents were laughing, like when

Bobby Bolivia's mammie gave him the bird, or when Ironhide offered to rid Sam of his "rodent problem"

(which is how I actually feel about chihuahua's. I need my big dogs to rough house with).

:07laugh

I may be alone in this but personally I thought this was a pretty tame movie in comparison to a lot of PG13 films. If this upset parents just wait until they bring their kids to Live Free or Die Hard. I found it astonishing how just the removal of the f word & some gore could warant this a 13+. 30 minutes in half a dozen people are already dead & Willis is already dripping with blood.

Anyway Transformers here only got a PG rating for violence/frightening scenes. Spiderman/Pirates recieved the same so not really a lot for parent's to worry about. For a Bay film the language was pretty minimal. The only time I really noticed it is when Sam was being chased by Barricade. Violence was mostly limited to stuff blowing up real good as well as some fighting explosions at the end. If anything I found Bay's Transformers a lot less vicious/violent as well as more family appropiate than Hasbro's 86 movie. Sure it's only a cartoon but ever is it raw & heavy handed. Galvatron's malicious nature is definitely not for a young audience. Movie Megatron was scarier but tounge in cheek enough to be fun as was the entire movie. The Scorponok scene happens so fast you barely see the guy impaled. Hate to see these kids watch something like Starship Troopers will people are literally torn in half screaming.

In answer I've only been in one movie where the kids beside me started crying & that was during the end fight in the first Spiderman. Poor kids didn't seem to like the idea of the hero getting the Blot kicked out of him. Green Goblin dying in the graphic nature he did really brought on the tears.

Jebus,movies are PG-13 for a reason people.

Wow. Kids are really that sensitive these days? That's truly baffling. I was 5 when the first TF movie came out and the ONLY part I cried at was Prime dying - but who didn't?

I really never recalled any of the violence in the movie or even half the autobots getting crushed on the shuttle. The Ironhide dying scene is more than cruel and frightening. It didn't phase me. Like I said, Prime dying was the only thing that hurt me as a child.

This movie really isn't bad enough that a parent needs to worry about it. The violence the majority of the time is against giant robots and really has no grounding in reality - other than the fact it's actual people.

The ONLY time you see a person directly affected by violence instead of IMPLIED death was the Scorponok scene. The humor was also all over the place that laughter was available even in the middle of the violence. The movie IS tame to say the least.

Another example is the game for the movie. You can't kill, crush, pick-up, mame, etc people running around. There is only robot on machine violence. Everyone runs away unscathed.

If your kid is too weak to watch this movie, you suck as a parent. Nuff said. While not sheltering completely isn't the way, uber sheltering them isn't either. As a parent, one needs to find the balance and ground a child in reality. As a culture, the US has somehow forgotten this. Meh.

Well it is PG-13 SOoooo...any parents upset that the movie scared or was inappropriate for their kids havn't got a leg to stand on. I mean that's why we have a rating system people. I'm sure somebody will complain that Bay and Spielberg should be more responsible and that the government should raise their kids.

Sorry...got a bit peeved there...back on topic

There was one kid I saw, probably 6 or 7 get a bit upset and cry but his dad just giggled and put his arm around him. Didn't hear a peep out of him the rest of the movie other than to say "DAD THAT'S SO COOL!!!"

I think the leg they have to stand on is 20+ years of marketing the brand "TRANSFORMERS" to kids and the 12' tall sign at Toys R us.

but the toys are made for kids as every one knows the movie is for the over 13's as has been posted all over the place so.... they cant say the parents wernt warned

There were a bunch of kids at my theater. No problems from any of them.

Meh, only genuinely scary stuff like the Alien trilogy freaked me out as a kid... And E.T. :redface

In my defense how can anyone find that.. THING cute?

I took my 6 year old son today and he loved it. Only problem is, he keeps making the transforming noise whenever he does anything. People might start thinking he has teretts now. Spell check that...
