It doesn't help that one of those negative reviews misspelled "Qatar". Heck, even my spell checker gets it right.

Every film gets its share of bad reviews and although you may disagree with the verdict you can see where they are coming from when the reviewer states their case in a coherent fashion.

This doesnt seem to be the case with Transformers. It seems as if all the negative reviews are about the concept rather than the film itself. As a guy with 2 years of film studies behind me I can safely say that does not look good on a critics CV.

Now if the movie is like this:

In a season packed with big-budget tentpole flicks, Transformers is the first among them that truly feels like an event. It may not be the best film I've seen this summer, but it's by far the most entertaining one.

I'm sure everyone will be happy!

I agree with SharpTooth but lets not forget -Transformers is not perfect, it is a dumb action movie. period. Even in my review i was very carefull not say "This film is GREAT" - its very very GOOD but not great.

Every flaw that the reviewers have brought up - i have agreed with, to an extent. However for me, the good very much outweighs the bad.

A film can be flawed but still great. Jurassic Park has its share of flubs but is still a classic.

And I beseech you to say that Commando wasn't brilliant despite being really really dumb

I don't mind bad reviews, these two bad reviews are crap reviews IMO. You could be negative about the review but not in the way those two were done. Seems rather pathetic for a reviewer to do what they did.

Hopefully some of the 'good' critics get reviews in soon. Still only has those 2 rotten reviews.

**EDIT** Even some of the positive reviews are crap.

This one take the cake for being the most angsty.

It's kinda interesting someone can enjoy the cartoon esque shananagans of Live Free or Die Hard & not see the same in Transformers. Also he admits to really liking Die Hard 3 but hating the second. Somebody internet kick this guy in the balls please. Also WTF is John Cullen? :07laugh

That's a bad review. There are no F-35Bs in this movie, only the F-22. And how the Powerglide can you screw up a voice actors name? John Cullen!?

This is somebody's fantasy, for sure--stand outside the theatre, opening night, to gauge just whose. Be sure to bring some pepper spray and a mint-in-mint-package Starscream to distract them in the event that they catch your off-hive, non-virginal, non-closeted scent

I'm not the one complaining about things on my BLOG :07laugh

Indeed....I found that a little striking

One thing I keep reading in many of the reviews is how the action is a chaotic mess.

Nothing really drives me more crazy during a movie than not being able to decipher what's happening or who's attacking who. The Bourne Supremecy was a real good example of this as was any recent Tony Scott film.

Bay does cut fairly quickly but inchoherence in an action sequence does not wok. The chase in the Rock was near impossible to follow. If Transformers is worse than tha I don't know how appreciative I'll be.

Just saw Live Free or Die Hard Friday & though nowhere near the best actioneer was very well/fluidly directed leaving little confusion as to what's happening. I wish Bay would learn to slow down & not realize not everybody in a cinema enjoys a strobelight picture.
