$35 is no where near on par of the price of a leader class figure in Japan. All of the other movie Leader class figures announced so far in Japan are 6500 Yen. That's $53.50, which is a lot further away from $35 than $28 is.

Also, the "$35 price" came from Ultimum's post, my guess is that where ever he got that from only guessed at or used an old exchange rate (I used today's).

Those were the package dimensions.

Key word here is believe. The way I read it is that those were the toy dimensions. The listing does not say "package dimensions". It says "dimensions". you guys are only assuming they are referring to the package.

Oh, and according to HLJ, the cost is $53.44 US, the supposed Japanese price for a Leader class figure. Here is the link: Leader Class Starscream on HLJ.

The item description info that you guys posted apparently came from another site entirely, not HLJ. Skywarp-2 posted that item info over on Seibertron.com as well and states he got it from anothe rsite, but doesn't name the site. He simply states he got it from "this one site."

If he's real, and he looks good, has a clean alt mode, better articulation etc., and I can get him without paying through the nose for shipping then I'll buy him. But part of me remains skeptical.

Being skeptical is fine. Saying flat out that it isn't coming out and that the vendor is flat out wrong, isn't. They have more information than we do, and have direct contact with the company, we don't.

It's a mistaken listing. It's for the Voyager Class figure.

Fan 2 Fan showed the Japanese packaging for the movie figures... and it is...

American packaging with a Japanese TF logo sticker on it. That's it.

Here's the link with the info: http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6091

BTW....that one size fits all thing about the packaging stands up because it's the American packaging, and there's apparently no Japanese version of it at all.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there you have it.

HLJ is also under the impression that there are two voyager-sized Megatrons for Japan as well:

My guess is they got the pricing for MD-07 (leader Megs) and MD-08 (voyager Starscream) mixed up.

Other sources have MD-07 and MD-08 at these prices

I'd be less skeptical if it were MD-17 Starscream or something as a leader class figure, something that's obviously a follow-on to the toys we know are coming.

It's a mistaken listing. It's for the Voyager Class figure.

I've seen that link, and it says nothing to discount the HLJ posting. In fact, the only version of movie Starscream it shows is the FAB version. So, unless you have absolute proof that it is a mistake, directly from either Takara or HLJ, you can't say that they screwed up. HLJ's listing is for a Leader class version in that price range. One that isn't coming out for a while yet. It doesn't list package size, nor figure size. All it lists is the price and class. It is a confirmed listing.

You win the internets. You're right, we're all wrong, reap the benefits. You rock sir. Carry on with your all knowing power.

:roll

It isn't about me being right or wrong, and you know it. You have no concrete proof that HLJ is mistaken. You have a completely unrelated listing from a different site, not HLJ's own information. You have a catalog page which doesn't even have images of the Voyager class Starscream. And in fact, only shows some of the models coming out, and even then, it looks like only the first wave. The Leader class Starscream, along with the Voyager class Bonecrushjer listed, appears to be from a much later wave; possibly wave 4 or 5. We don't even have a package design for it yet. It's a pre-order for something that won't be coming out for months yet.

I really don't care whether or not they do come out with a Leader class Starscream in Japan, because I don't order things online, much less from overseas. But, to say flat out that they are mistaken without concrete proof, such as a retraction by HLJ, or statements from Takara, instead of simply remaining cautions yet optimistic that the listing is accurate, is foolish at best. The HLJ listing is for a future product, priced in the Japanese Leader class price range, not the Voyager class price range. There is no other product information, just the class and price. They wouldn't post that if they didn't get that information from Takara. Therefore, given that this is the only concrete information we have, we can't say for certain that they are wrong.
