New faction symbols

So the autobot logo doesn't look so sad anymore. Good for them.

you can't really tell on the autobot one but you can on the decepticon one

and it looks worse for it

new symbols are much tighter... ive always thought the G1 autobot symbol looked a bit weepy... think the eyes follow the shape a little better now. same for the new decep symbol. the shape of the eyes fits the face.

can anyone get a closeup of the hood symbol on prime from the trailer? i swear that was G1...

Personally, I like the tweeks they made to the faction symbols. It does give them a bit more of an industrial look to them, and cleans them up a bit. They're sharper and "edgier" than before, with just the slight changes made.

I would NEVER have noticed were they not pointed out to me.

Aside from the silver of course.

Wow, they seem really different to me. Obviously they are based on the same glif, but the treatments are substantially different. I just assumed everyone noticed, but no one cared...

Personally, I don't mind the new ones, but I think the could have done a lot better particularly with the Decepticon one. The "weathered stamped metal" treatment also has a pretty significant impact as well, making them look bland and lifeless. The epoxied one on bumble bees steering wheel looks really different.

I love the new designs, the tweeks are great. To me, they all look much better.

Pointless changes...SOP for the movie. :P

Though I did notice that the autobot symbol, rather than looking somewhat "weepy", now looks pissed off (on account of angling the upper line of the eyes down into a glare). For some reason this seems inappropriate to me.

They pretty much jsut stretched them. Everything is taller and alot of the angle are slanted more vertical then the "classic" version. But like Goki said, even during G1 the symbol was slightly different between various years. I don't see how it looks evil, the colors make it look colder, but put it in Autobot red and it looks fine.

The eyes have been modified and I personally feel the Autobot symbol looks a bit evil.

I guess Michael Bay thought that the classic autobot symbol was too sissy looking for his movie :tflaugh

Prolly cuz it is. For anyone's movie.
