New faction symbols

Recommended Posts

They pretty much jsut stretched them. Everything is taller and alot of the angle are slanted more vertical then the "classic" version. But like Goki said, even during G1 the symbol was slightly different between various years. I don't see how it looks evil, the colors make it look colder, but put it in Autobot red and it looks fine.

Oooh, they both look really good in the classic colors, very nice.

Im happy with the original symbols myself. :thumb

You can barely tell with the Autobot symbol. I noticed the Decepticon symbol right away, but I didn't make much of a fuss over it. I was expecting both symbols to be completely changed for the movie, so I'm happy they weren't altered too much.

I noticed the changes when I first saw the new symbols right away. Like death333 said, I guess you notice these things more when you have a background in art or graphic design. Setting the Autobot symbol's eyes at a slight inward slant is a vast improvement over the original IMO. While I like that the eyes have been spaced farther apart in the new Decepticon design, I think making them larger would have given the symbol a less "stretched" feel to it. I'm just glad that the symbols are very close to the originals. I guess some things are sacred after all.

I've got a pretty extensive art and design background, and admittedly, I did notice the difference. But I've also noticed the difference in box art as well. However, many of the same design elements are there, much in the same way there are elements in most Prime figures that make them "Prime."

At least they didn't use flames or tribal patterns. Now that would be OMGZERGRUSH.
