Classics Minicons

Recommended Posts

They all seem to be tangents from the original sub-teams...

we have Dinobots, the Predator team (Predacons), Demolitions team (Constructicons/Combaticons, really shoulda been two teams), Night Rescue team (Protectobots), Dirt Digger (?) team (Stunticons)... Clear Skies team (Aerialbots).

If you take everything away from the original teams but their concepts, you could totally go in this direction.

Now all we need is a military team with a misplaced construction vehicle, a team of monsters, a team of sea creatures, and a team of... techno...thingies... :D

sounds like all Minicon teams to me.

I kinda noticed that trend too...

And hell, I'm up for mini Seacons!

I love the way Hasbro has done the beast minis so far, little fish guys would rock!

some insects too.

The mind boggles why a trio of small Insecticons weren't the first beast minicons out of the gate. No matter, the new mold Minicons are terrible in every way and completely turned me off to the idea.

wow, don't mince words or anything, tell us how you really feel! :)

Giant planet Minicons plus Demolitions team Minicons = Constructicons / Combaticons!

Deep Dive, Overcast, Broadside

Sledge, Wideload, Longarm!

COOL!!

Is the only reason that you're classifying these Mini-Cons as Classics because they're in a similar style packaging? Because I can't see the word "Classics" appearing anywhere on their packaging.

This reminds me of the Classic Transformers which were in a similar style packaging to the Transformers packaging of 1990-91... but only figures with the word "Classic" on the packaging at that time counted as "Classic"s.

Likewise I only consider figures that actually carry "Classics" written on their packaging to be true Classics.

Note: for those who haven't noticed yet, I'm referring to the G1 Classics as "Classic" (or "Classic"s for plural) and the current Classics as "Classics" to further differentiate between the two lines (in reality Hasbro should've just given the Classics line a new name to avoid ambiguity).

i've seen vintage used on some websites, i guess they could have used g1 redux but realy theres not many names to give a line like this. also, i call them the classics minicons because well thats the current series being produced, but apparently goki's right. i just looked at my packaging and while i see "Classic Voyager" and "Classic Deluxe" all the minicon packaging says is "Mini-con Teams". meh i'll just call 'em classics minicons because thats what everybody else knows them by.

:roll

Avoid ambiguity? Has anyone confused these two things yet?

Is there still quality news to find about these early '90s G1 figs?

(this is just a stand in till i see the huge rolleye thing...) :roll :roll

...but.. but.. if you do that, I won't know if you mean the ones from today or the "Classic"s Minicons from the early nineties!!

oh.. wait. there's a little thing called context :)

and as far as i'm concerned, this tie between g1 combiner concepts and current minicon teams makes them "classics" to me
