One screwed up transformer

Recommended Posts

Well, in my opinion, they RUINED Transformers after Generation 1! I mean, some of the Generation 2 Transformers are Cool, but Armada... I'm not even going to go there! Just my .02!

Sorry, accidentaly double posted.

Generation 1 will ALWAYS be the BEST!

Actually, its not the best according to most of the fandom here...the typical opinion here is that G1 was poor in today's standards, nostalgia shouldn't reflect on how you percieve it by today's standards, and Beast Wars was the best series.

Also, if Transformers were ruined, then you wouldn't be here, nor would this site...Be happy Armada was such a huge success with the targeted age group or none of this would be possible right now in this capacity.

And if G1 were the new series with the exact standards it had in the 80's, it would definately ruin Transformers..god knows those reissues just fly off the shelf.

And, that is what it is: an opinion. Well, every Transformer fan that I have talked to said that Generation 1 was the best! Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And, that was mine and I am sticking to it! The toys from Generation 1 were very well made. They had more metal parts, etc. Todays toys, with the exception of the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and BinalTechs, are mostly plastic and look cheesy! I am mainly referring to Armada. To me, the Armada toys look cheap made. Atleast the Generation 1 toys DID look like real vehicles and robots! So, again, that is my opinion!

I get where you're coming from, but since when did metal constitute quality? You can have a wholly diecast product piece of crap, and you can have plastic works of art. Plastic tends to be more durable, but it might not feel like it has any weight to it.

And then of course, you factor in the cost of producing the figures. Is it really worth paying anywhere from 2-5x more for what is essentially the same figure, just because it weighs a few more pounds? Personally, I'd feel ripped off paying for diecast.

My concensus is that G1 really is overated. Sure, it brings many people fond memories, but in comparison with what we have now, the storytelling was primitive, the toys were fragile and less fun to actually play with, and like Bodycount, I feel that it's more nostalgia than anything that fuels people's love for G1, rather than anything of truly high calibur.

i have one of the fighures form that very line his name was staxx his a semi like armada prime only brown and baby blue and rather well crap

G2 did have some good stuff such as the cyber jets and turbo mansters ok the turbomasters were a bit brickish but they had a good idea and its not like the later G1 guys were any better.

ok the newer toys colour scheme are naff but the movements are so much better compare G1 cromedome to armada hot shot and so on
