Movie Starscream's inspiration

I was reading our "Great Action Pose Thread" in Toy Discussion, and Goktimus Prime posted this.

Made me wonder. Did Bay get a look at BWII BB and mistake him for BWII Starscream (since the toys came together) and told the CGI people to design Screamer's head like BB?

I know it's a long s , hinking along these lines makes me feel a little better than him possibly just coming up with his own ideas as to how they should look.

Honestly until I see the actual in movie head for Screamer I've given up commenting on it. The trailer already shows that Prime and Bumblebee's heads look much better then the concept art, and I suspect Starscream and Megatrons will as well.

But untill they show up in a trailer or I see the flick can;t know for sure.

i doubt he did enough research to find something from bwII. im thinking he saw g1 ss and decided the only characteristics they would share are the fact that hes a robot who turns into a jet.

And Hasbro did have input on all of these after all, I mean Bay has the permission to make the movie, but Hasbro could have shot down any design they didn't like, its this their property he's playing with.

Not really. While I'm sure every contract is slightly different, in general as the film rights go, so to does the final word on how that property is portrayed on screen.
