Your First Transformer

I had thought my first Transformer was Bumblebee but it's recently been suggested that it actually may have been the Bumblebee and Ravage & Rumble with Birthday money.

first two tfs were prime and reflector. both were mailaways. man do i ever wish i still had them.

I always loved Transformers and transforming giant robots so I've always beencollecting off and on.  My love for the Transformers got re-sparked with Beast Wars though.  My collecting hasn't stopped since then.  Even when I say to myself, "I think I'm going to stop collecting. Hey, thats cool!  He or she needs to get into my collection!"  Lol!

My first Transformer was Ironhide, followed by Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Rumble and Ravage.

Out of the Transformers I regret losing, My fantastic Jetfire and my Gakken Alpha Fighter.  Don't ask how I lost them.  Sniff*  Tis a tale too horrible and gruesome to relive again.

I've had TFs my whole life, but I didn't call it "collecting" until I was 15.

I've considered myself a collector since 1985. Really. Even started displaying my tiny collection at that stage - never kept Transformers in a toy box until I hit senior high - I needed the shelf space for my massive collection of anime video tapes. But I gave away my anime collection a year before Beast Wars came out, which was good timing... with my TF interest revived, I would soon need that shelf space again. :)

But I remember all the silly things other kids would do to my collection... like my brother's friends coming over when I wasn't home and turning my Transformers around, so that I would come home to find half my Transformers facing backwards. :P

I think one main reason why I started being a collector so early on was because there was this other kid at my school who was also a collector. Leo Davidson was his name. His family were immigrants from the United States. I can't remember if Leo was born in America or Australia... it's not like you care about any of that crap when you're a kid. But by 1985, Leo had amassed the largest Transformers collection I had ever seen - and his collection became legend in the schoolyard... he had (behold) fifty-six Transformers! Wow! And he had them all neatly displayed underneath his family's sofa in the lounge room. Autobots on one side, Decepticons on the other - which is precisely how I display my Transformers today! We used to go to Leo's house after school and lie on our stomachs on his white tiled lounge room floor and gaze at his Transformers under that couch, whilst we pulled them out to play. Leo was actually the creator of Cosmos' "Sexy Satellite Mode", which looked like this:

Ah yes... we used to roam around the school field with our Cosmoses.. Cosmi... using his sexy satellite mode, which according to Leo, Cosmos used for photographing topless and nude sunbathers at beaches and nudist colonies... we would split our sides laughing at our ingenius humour (hey, we were like 8yo :P)

Your first two Transformers were Transformers that, in order to purchase them, you needed an order form and robot points from previously purchased Transformers? I guess you must've received the robot points and order form from an older relative. I know I used to do the same thing for my younger cousin - whenever I ordered mail aways, my mum would insist on delegating some of them for my cousin - so whilst my brother and I got Downshift and "Drill Dasher", it was my cousin who got Reflector, Camshaft, Time Warrior, Overdrive and "Sky Dasher." We ordered "F-1 Dasher" for another cousin from interstate. I didn't really mind at the time, because my cousin only lived a few streets down from me, so if I ever wanted to play with Camshaft or Reflector etc., I would just walk over to his house. But now it's become more frustrating because we don't even live in the same area anymore, but also because he's no longer a real Transfan, but he refuses to give away or sell his collection which he wants to cling onto for the nostalgia. Not that I can blame him... in fact, I probably encouraged him. :P

Good luck finding another Reflector... they don't come cheap.

I think my first official Tf was Jetfire or Actionmaster Bumblebee.

The 1st one i bought myself was G2 Archforce (the superior European rework of combat hero Megatron)

There is no way for me to remember my first TF since I was too young to remember. But I didn't call it collecting until I was 13.

I just wanted to say that it's awesome that I can see your post written up to that picture, which means you took that pic just for that post. :thumb
