Slaughtermaster: never underestimate the powers of a 7 year old's lack of imagination! ;)

Mind you, I always got top marks for creative writing in school (I actually came 3rd in the year that year), which kinda makes me now worry about how unimaginative the other kids in my year must've been. Despite the lack of creativity in the names I gave my plushies, I did have this weird kind of fantasy world laid out for them.

They lived in a world called (drumroll) Animal Land. Yep... a world whose name was about as imaginative as the names of the animals who inhabited it! It was kinda like Middle Earth insofar as being a flat world, rather than a spherical planet, but unlike Middle Earth it didn't orbit around a larger planet (that was way beyond my imagination). Millions of years ago Animal Land was the largest continent on a planet called (here we go) Animal World (btw, I didn't know about difference between Disney Land/World at the time, so the similarity is coincidental). After a global nuclear war, the planet was destroyed, with the primary continent somehow dettaching itself off the world - in tact - and then floating aimlessly through space. Right. This continent continued to orbit around Animal World's sun but the continent spun in some weird way so that only the upper half would have day and night - the lower half was in perpetual darkness. Don't ask me how this happened, I don't think I ever figured it out. The inhabitants on the dark side were evil and their civilisation reverted back to the stone age. They were very warlike and always wanted to conquer the good animals on the upper side. The good animals - these would be my plush toys - quickly rebuilt their civilisation. They soon developed an agrarian society ruled under a benevolent feudal system of government. And for some reason, I never bothered to explain what happened between then and the development of futuristic space age technology. It wasn't quite like the Jetsons, but it was still pretty nifty - Animal Land had its own interstellar fleet and they were soon at war with a race of alien invaders. The hero of these intergalactic wars was this plush rabbit who wore a Santa Claus hat - I must've gotten it for Xmas, as well as my favourite teddy bear (whom I sadly lost :() called Starkeeper and Raider respectively (yeah, the names for my plushies did kind of improve later). Starkeeper also had his own television show and fan base.

...this is the crap I make up when I played with my toys. ;)

Considering it was the 80's, I probably would've gone with the old Hanna-Barbara/He-Man naming convention of "what it is +or/ar." In this case Prime most likely would have been Truckor, or something along those lines.

Optimus Prime is better - more timeless - but I also like Convoy.

I'd have called him:

18 Wheels of Justice.

But it only had 10 wheels....

So what? Everyone wants to call him "Convoy" even though there's only one of him. :tflaugh

"Optimus Prime" is fine by me. It's no worse a name than any of the other G1 guys from that year.

The Mattel and Mars Bar Quick Energy Chocobot!!

well Optimus Prime all the way but Convoy would be my second

choice. they both have that authoritive feel to them, even though

when i think of OP haveing the name Convoy it makes me think that he's younger for some reasion.

Nightruck is all right but it sounds like a name you'd give some leader

wantabee, & we can be haveing that.

Steel Justice . . . all come on thats just lame

You were more imaginative than you think, Goki. :thumb

"Steel Justice" sounds like some jail pr0n movie or something.

Optimus Prime roughly translated means "Best of the best, of the best of the best".

Goki,

I'm into pomo, so your names are actually quite appropriate. I think the system you got set up makes a great short length movie or a comic strip (HINT HINT, DEADPOOL).

Yeah, Nighttruck seems silly now, but the more I thought about the name Steel Justice, it sort of makes sense. You can have subsequent Autobot leaders with "Justice" as their "suffix" - so if reality goes on and everyone retains their name except Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus can be Magnus Justice, and Hot Rod can become Rod Justice.

Hmmm.... that can be a problem. I guess Optimus Prime or Convoy doesn't sound too bad.
