I'm feeling gimped about C-Primus' power level.

Recommended Posts

He's more like Zeus or Odin than he is like Yaweh.

I don't know what you mean by this sentence. Yahweh was a Hebrew Thunder god, very similar to Zeus., less like Odin.

Hope that helps you understand what Haggisman was actually trying to say.

Actually no it didn't. I can't figure out who the "He" was referring too.

If one wanted to be a dick, one might also point out that YHWH is a fictional construct like Odin, Zeus and Unicron. :tftongue

Well yeah, but I never debated his existence in reality. I'm not a Christian or a Jew, however I'm a mythology buff and so have studied it a bit.

Nothing wrong with comparing one fictional construct to another however, and in comparison Primus is more in the lines of Odin or Zeus for relative power then he is Yahweh or Jehovah.

Unless you follow G1 cartoons in which he doesn't exist and Unicron was built by a talking monkey with a goofy hat.

I was trying to point out that Yahweh/Jehovah isn't necessarily more powerful than Odin or Zeus. It's just that his following has grown stronger throughout the years. They just had a better PR campaign... :tflaugh1

As I see it, G1 Galvatron was Megatron after a repair job from a big robot created by some scientist. No "god" involved, demi or otherwise.

Despite the total Herculian-level pwnage he single handedly whipped out in Target:2006 and the Time Wars. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Name one other Transformer "mortal" who single handedly kicked more arse in G1.

From what it seems Goki...

Hobbes doesn't subscribe to the Comics Origins and Stories. Which is fine, to each his own...but comics Galvatron was superior to cartoon Galvatron in everyway.

I was more suggesting that no continutiy has any impact on another. Someone mentioned what Galvatron did to Primus in Cybertron, and Goki sighted G1 comics Galvy being a demigod. My point was just, comic Glavy's powerlevels do not an explanation make.

I'll be more direct next time. :thumb

True, but simply based on the mythology Zeus, Odin and pretty much all the other gods in the Western pantheons were not all powerful or all knowing. The cultures that spawned them saw them as far closer to human then the Jewish/Muslim/Christian god. Almost all those other cultures had a legend in which the Gods were destroyed by their own mistakes, and in some cases being killed by human beings. Where as the closet legends involving Yahweh/Jehovah have mankind being destroyed and the all powerful god remaking things afterwards.

The basic mythology simply has the entity being far more powerful in relation to human beings. Though Yahweh started out as something akin to Zeus, by the time the idea was adopted by the Christians and the Muslims he had become something far different. Its possible of course that given time the Greco Roman, or the Norse gods could have evolved through mythology into beings of similiar stature, but unfortunately those cultures died out.

And of course it can always be argued that the power of any God relies entirely on the power of its worshipers. A "God" with few or no worshipers is powerless, while on with millions is nearly all powerful, simply because the numbers are their to enforce its mandates.

Regardless, Primus has never been shown as being all powerful. The character from the beginning has been a "God like" entity, but he's also spent most of his existence hiding in side a planet trying to heal from grievous wounds and keeping the being who inflicted them away. And really I don't think he's ever been called a god by a single Transformer. He's been called the creator, but that doesn't make him a God. He's simply a being thats much older and of a different level of technology and power then those he created. He's mortal jsut like the rest of them, just much harder to actually kill.

Yahweh is also the Hebrew name for the one true God in the modern day monotheist version of Judaism.

actually, Yahweh is not God's real name. it's more of a place holder since they're not allowed to say or write the real name(which is Urael, BTW. google it).

Actually Urael is an archangel along with Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel. Though its usually spelled Uriel in most texts and sometimes extended to Urimiel.

Yahweh on the other hand is listed as the secret true name with Hashem or Adonai being the name by which they call him since they can't use the true one pretty much everywhere.

Though if you have a good reference for Urael as gods name I'd be happy to see it, always up to learn something new. Simply never seen that name used as anything other then the Archangel.

I agree with tentagil, hence why I said "Judeo-Christian Super God" - because that's really what their god is... a super uber God.

Primus is a God in the more classical definition of a God a la Zeus, Odinn et al.

As much as I love anime, I don't like hearing "Transformers" and "power level" in the same sentence kthx.

Simply put, either the GF/Cyb righters were lazy, the show isn't meant to have this much thought put into it, or both. Not every show is meant to be made in perfect continuity or logic.
