Question: If RSP made reproductions would you buy them?

the headmasters are a pain to get a hold on, you can easily get the large body for cheap (got a g1 scorp for £7) but to get all the accessorys can cost more than the actual figure (scorponok's helmet cost me as much as the body.

lord zarak and the zarak sheild would be good

wst magnus trailers would be great as well though.

As the mold maker/caster du jour, let me make a comment if you would. I see a lot of suggestions being thrown out about how to handle reproing rare parts and most involve a heat stamp or color change in mid part.

As far as that goes, you need to realize what your asking. To make the parts strong and durable, the materials are of a high caliber. That means that these parts don't melt like cheapo factory thermomelt plastic. The get flexible at higher heats (225 and above) but they don't melt, they burn. At around 400+ they burn up, and just under that they turn brown and scorch, so heat marking or stamping is out the window.

Making plastic color changes is just as big a pain. That means you have to stop filling the mold with one color of plastic, let it cure (anywhere from 1 to 4 hours under heat & pressure), then mix another color and fill the mold the rest of the way up (hoping you don't miss a spot and leave a void because you can't demold the part to check or else it would not turn out) and pray that the parts bond properly. Equally unacceptable because of the extended time and high failure percentage.

The parts I do (and have upcoming) are for two reasons only: make extra money, and on behalf of Elrod who has an exceeding amount of goodwill towards a property & community that I have only mildly passing interest in. When the parts get too big, or too complex, or start needing more than a 5 minute mod I lose interest. My main concern is Joe, and that's where it will remain. If it's custom parts you want, highly specified accs for some uber-rare Japanese figure that maybe only 15 people in the US own (and none bought incomplete) or color matched to the original parts then you should just go ahead and buy and original part. The repros I make are for guys who want a high quality placeholder or display piece for their own collections.

A good example is the Alt heads. High quality castings that are intended for the customizer to take and mod/paint toward their own needs. Anyways, I would be happy to coordinate with you guys (RCP), and see what we can hash out but understand that TF parts are a sideline to me and are treated as such.

Second the WST Ultra Magnus Trailer, and I can always use some Alternator parts! Heads, Swords, Missile Launchers, Guns, Hands, and I also need an Energon Scorpinok Visor!

Alternator hands YES PLEASE I NEED some extra Alternator hands for my combiner projects. Preferably Smokescreen hands.

Some S2000 gunbarrels and a lightpiping Wheeljack would be nice for Alternators. :)

AAA Haaaa!! :thumb :clap

I could go for that.

I tried actually. I ordered 4 of these heads from KCC essentially right before his stroke. Still haven't gotten them and I don't imagine I ever will. :tfsad I really hope Ken is doing better but we've gotten no updates since the March entry from last year (the update on TFormers isn't on his site. If it is, I'd like to see it). Such a tragedy.

Diaclone drivers for our Diaclone or G1 cars... FairladyZ windshields/rear windows/doors... Lancia Stratos spoilers, Marlboro Wheeljack heads... :schin Those were already made as repros but are still rare.

Edit: first to Elrod: are they in your library, and would Alyosha repro them someday? I can send everything (but the Marlboor head) to arceeproto in a couple of months when I get back to my collection but would like to know first.

Excellent replies all!

For any parts that you want replicated we need at least one pristine sample.

If you've got one we'll make you parts for free in exchange for the loan of that sample.

Conact us directly if you're interested.

mmm, i would love to see alternator heads (made from custom made heads of kitbashers) or other alt parts like missle launchers and such...

What I would like to see is a repro of that new G1 Prime head for the next Japanese Prime release (The ipod cross-sell, I think)

Unfortunately, it would require someone being willing to take the head off and sending it to you. But if you can get a hold of the sample, I'd definitely buy a reproduction from you. And I have to wonder how popular it'd be.
