Having been worried for sometime about how the chacters would look as robots and building up alot of nerves over it(will they ruin our beloved chacters) and stuff like that. I can say now after having looked at the pics we've seen and getting used to them I really don't think thay have done a bad job so far. Plus I think it will make a big difference once voices are added making the bots feel more familiar.

We all expected things to be different and as already has been said "Change although scary can be a good thing". As for the bots looking flimsy, we have no idea what their made out of seeing as how they come from a different planet. I mean if Wolverine can be unbreakable because of adamantium then... you get the picture.

I do agree with one thing that was stated earlier though. If you call youeself a true Transfan then you can't Starscream about everthing that comes out. Sure we all love G1 but if you don't love at least most of the stuff givin' to us mabey its time to find a new hobby. Personally I choose hate "Robots In Disguise", the show not the toys what with the fact they gave us Scourge and Bruticus (Ruination).

These toys prove that change can be good.

They all interest me, the only problems i have are starscream aint got hands or a head that i can recognise, other than those those he looks complicated as hell and i like it.

Am i the only one that gets the feeling these might be aimed at adults a bit more than children though?

Scorponok dosent look like a child freadly toy. >_<

compairing the movie version of the copter to the toy version has restored my faith in Hasbro to pull-off transforming toys :thumb :thumb :thumb

and like what was said before...

Transtech Lives!

So hornet - what was this about me eating crow and Hasbro only making action masters and shell formers???

FYI - i think the designs ROCK!! Not so keen on Starscreams head - but i can deal with it.

Any indication of what scorpy transforms into? i got the impression he was like C-Laser beak = canister to beast -but the toy-pic seems to indicate that it has some other second form.

And was it Jaguartron who was predicting the toy protos to hit??

wow! Hunter blabbers....

so i wonder who got fired over this one....

pass the wasabi :redface

and BTW, i'm pretty sure that scorpinok is a CGI-rendering.

well to me the new starscream rocks! finally got rid of that whinny face of his...I was so sick of it.

The thing I notice about the faces (on the cons at least) is they look alien/organic. Sort of like cyborg aliens that transform rather than just robots. At least thats what it looks like on the toy protos. Look at blackout and screams head....totaly alien. Kinda reminds me of Macfarlines spawn/robot types. Very cool.

The reaction to these at a non-TF board I go to has not been what I have seen here, extreme HATE for these designs. Especially since Optimus is not a flat-nose semi or Bumblebee is not a VW Beetle.

it would be ironic if all of Bay and co's attempts to make tf's appeal to a mass market just ends up making the tf's appeal only to the fans like they should have done in the first place.

I've shown the pics around and outside of a few comments on the faces (starscrams), and primes colors people think they look good or excellent. The non TF fans I've been seeing are good. My favorite thus far is when I was at the theaters and a bunch of little kids were arguing in front of the TF movie poster, saying how much Prime could berat up megatron (too bad the were usuing Cybertron as examples).

With that I think some kids are going to be both happy and a little confused. They see the Armada saga and now the movie is something new. It will through a few through a loop, but i forsee a lot of playground battle and re-enactments based on the movie next year.

Blot GET THE SHOTGUNS AND CHAINSAWS!

TRANSTECH ROSE FROM THE DEAD!

AND THEY ALL LOOK LIKE CYBORG ZOMBIES!

I'll buy one of each please, Now I want to see Megatron, all the other cons look downright evil and creepy

Therefore since Megatron is leader he must be 10X awesome as the others

Actually my comment was 'in general'. How can one keep saying "I'm a Transfan, yet also profess to hate every new thing that comes out." I'm going to put this blunt. I'd be really bored by now if all we were ever seeing was the G1 Transformers over and over again. Reissues are nice, but I'm glad that we're also getting new stuff. It's ALL good.
I'm not really seeing many of those people though.

Yes, all lines are criticised by some, but it's not by the same people over and over much anymore.

With so many design styles being so different, it's inevitable that almost everyone's going to come across a design style they don't like at some point.

It's turning out very nicely folks. I have faith in both Hasbro and Paramount.

I hope that one proto isn't Starscream. Cause if it is, I must say I'm dissapointed. I thought they'd at least try and make a few of the iconic characters look somewhat similar in at least the head shapes.
