:tflaugh While that's funny, it does hold merit.

I dunno. if I were a Cybertronian looking to hide in the middle of a freeway, why not the most inconspicuous form of an aftermarket POS?

*wants black out toy bad*

Then be a Saturn coupe or something

The reaction to these at a non-TF board I go to has not been what I have seen here, extreme HATE for these designs. Especially since Optimus is not a flat-nose semi or Bumblebee is not a VW Beetle.

it would be ironic if all of Bay and co's attempts to make tf's appeal to a mass market just ends up making the tf's appeal only to the fans like they should have done in the first place.

Which is completely outdated. Ya know? I mean, it's been over 20 years. VW Beetles were old back then. Things change. Sometimes we don't like change at first, but over time it grows on us. I just wish people weren't so uptight that they can't even give these things a chance. How can you be a true fan and hate every single thing that comes out? Seems to me that a person in that position would give up on trying to fool people into thinking that they are a Transfan. *shrug*

I think the key thing here is that it was a non Transformers board.

Like the designs or not, I think fans were robbed of the chance to experience Transtech and are going to warm to these more than someone who hasn't experienced the past 10 years or so of Transformers and finds the older style fresher than we would.

Actually my comment was 'in general'. How can one keep saying "I'm a Transfan, yet also profess to hate every new thing that comes out." I'm going to put this blunt. I'd be really bored by now if all we were ever seeing was the G1 Transformers over and over again. Reissues are nice, but I'm glad that we're also getting new stuff. It's ALL good.

I love G1. However, I can accept change and like new designs too. I love most of the classics line and like the rest of it. Those were great designs. The TF movie designs feel VERY alien and look kinda like someone turned on a magnet in a scrap metal yard and went with whatever stuck to the magnet.

I have a hard time trying to make sense of how cars and semi's could change into those without some "anime magic" or "movie magic" b/c there are so many little bits of curved metal that I just don't see them smoothly changing into cars (at least without being floppy). Blackout looks like he changed from an earth helicopter to a robot. Starscream maybe, but he just doesn't look like Starscream (they could have given him Starscream's head and made it a lot better). Overall, the TF's look fragile and I want TF's to look strong and tough.

Where are all the G1 nods that I've been reading about. People are saying that we should accept the change, but the fact is that I've read numerous messages from Bay and his team talking about how they have 2 huge G1 fans working on the movie with them and that this movie is going to please the G1 fans. I'm a G1 fan and I'm not pleased by those designs. I can accept the designs as cool transforming robots, but not as Transformers (or at least as the Transformers they are named after).
