I'll be getting one. Alt Prime to me looks cheap and unfinished. That red plastic looks aweful IMO. Paint job on this one is sweet and will look excellent with the rest of my Alts/BTs. And I don't mind paying the price when it's on something I actually want.

Yeah, I need to check out Remy's thread, but that just makes it that much more ridiculous that it costs $76, $15 more than my die-cast BTs.

I agree, but they were doable I suppose. $50ish for a super-cool die-cast fig w/ a trading card and detailed bookstyle instructions.

 

There is no way in hell I am paying $76 (or even the old BT price of $50ish) for a plastic crappy non-G1. At least the BTs were marvels of engineering w/ superior (IMO) materials. This is just expensive crap that I would have to import, so that makes it a pass.

 

EDIT: MOP I will admit that this looks 100x better than Alt Prime, but the price is seriously insane.

It's better than regular Alt Prime, definitely. Not $40 more including shipping better. I have Nemmy Prime, I'll stick with that, I guess.

I really like the look of this convoy. Looks far better than Alt Prime. But it's the price that's holding me back. I think it's way too much, especially considering the fact that I think it's a pretty crappy mold without the alterations discussed in the custom section. And it's also too expensive to start cutting up to improve it.

 

If it drops somewhat in price, I'll get it for sure.

 

 

The only thing I'm still wondering about, is the quality of the plastic. The plastic on my alt Prime seems to be of inferior quality compared to earlier alts. I wonder if Takara's version has better plastic.

Considering that it's plastic with red paint on it... I'd bet that Hasbro's molding is better. At least if you expect the paint to stay intact after transforming it.
