Hobby Japan August 2006 MP-3 Starscream Article

I 'm pretty sure SS will still be a decent and respectable size.

And if it's not coming to America...I may pass. Importing things is more work than DN is worth

22cm or roughly 8 inches tall in robot mode, 30cm or close to MP Prime in jet.

Yeah, I mean the robot mode may be a little shorter, but its definitely going to be close in scale. I don't know why everyone is so worried about it's stature. *shrugs*

I'm not. It will kick all kinds of ass.

Isn't he in robot mode just alittle taller than a alt?

From what we've heard is MP startscream simular in size to Cybertron Super Starscream?  Simular enough to say, Wear his Crown?

anyone mind translating the text we see with MP Sceamer, I recall someone saying the "flaps" are transferable from leg to hip.

Hey why cant the Jet kibble armour on his arms be located on the back of his arms vs the sides.

Me like, me buy, me used to waist kibble, me have to say nothing else.  Ug send money to takara now.

This is the part I don't get w/ your line of reasoning...there is just as much detail in robot mode (from what I can tell from the pics) when comparing MP-03 and MP-01. Much more detail than any Alt/BT would have.

Then along came the first Starscream mold and it did the exact same thing.

It wasn't show accurate, it was toy, comic and show mixed.

He was the ultimate version of Starscream known prior to the figure being made.

The second Starscream mold then changes that.

It's reinvented, reimagined, redsigned.

Moving the kibble from the legs to the hips triggered that reaction? Wouldn't a toy/comic/show figure be reinvented/reimagined/redesigned in the first place? I have a hard time seeing how the movement of a piece of kibble is a huge redesign, considering the rest of the figure is by and large the same kick-ass version of Starscream.

It's a geewun figure that appeals more to an artist's fans than the geewunners themselves and you can't see the difference?

I'm glad your artist sensibilities have given you objective criteria to judge this figure better than everyone else posting here. I'm not sure if you're referring to me or a collective "you" when talking able Geewun'ers, but that statement makes zero sense. If both designs of the figure are not G1-accurate, a true Geewun'er would be picking apart mercilessly both figures.

I agree 100% with joshlowe. A duck is a duck and a platypus is a platypus. Masterpiece Convoy is a duck and Starscream is a platapus, but Takara insists on calling him a duck too. It's just like Binaltech, Binaltech Asterisk, and KISS Play; they're just calling this Binaltech a MP so it'll sell better. If Screamer was a Binaltech I'd be excited, if he was scaled down as a THS I'd be thrilled, but as a MP I feel like I'm being cheated out of $100. How can a figure that's 4" shorter than MP Convoy and doesn't fit the MP formula be worth as much?

There's nothing Masterpiece about this figure: Not the vehicle mode, not the robot mode, not the scale, and not the price. Lower the price and maybe I can overlook this misnomer. I can't wait to see how he looks colored to see if they at least got that right. :roll

Please reveal to us the secret MP formula.

I understand where joshlowe is coming from as well. Im not thrilled about a lot of the things with this peice myself. Now, Im not saying that I wont buy it, but I will be tweeking it to fit my personal idea's...  MaybeIll just wait to see if maybe hasbro imports the first mold like someone a few posts back suggested, and I hope that they do, as I like that version better, it looks more like screamer than the newer mold. Starscream never had the.... fast packs I guess they're called, on the sides of his jet mode, nor were bot parts visible in jet mode, but, nothing is perfect. However that was the fun of the G1 toys, they werent perfect either, but they had a lot of play value to them, which Im sure that this version of Starscream wll have, but it simply IS NOT the right mold for the G1 Starscream, as a lot have said before. The first mold had it, dead on. The second mold doesnt, and I agree with joshlowe that it looks more like a upper scale Alt/BT than a MP. Screamer never had the waist kibble, nor the fast packs on his arms in the cartoon or any comics that Ive ever seen myself... Ill buy this still, but its deffinately not worth the $100 that we have to pay for it. I gre up with G1, and thats what I want, G1. Takara, whom I doubt is readoing any of my post now, play it smart and make all the remolded stuff removable so those who like it can keep it and those who dont can remove it.
