  1. Hey guys n gals of TFans! I need to sell this stuff so that I can do some Christmas shopping (late, I know). Unfortunately lost the job I had, and now I can barely afford the bills while looking for work none the less buy gifts.. which sucks... a lot... Anyway, here's a list of everything that I'm wanting to sell, so let me know if you're interested, and hopefully we'll be able to work things out! MP-03 Starscream-$120: Great condition, bought him from a member from another site, but because of the new 11 figure, I no longer want or need this one. I have the box, instructions, and I believe the stickers are still unapplied! MP-03 Wal-Mart exclusive Starscream-$70: Again, have everything for this (I think ) But because I am interested in buying the new version, I no longer want or need this one. This guy is special in that he's slightly modified. I shaved down the connections for the skirt armor so that the cockpit can sit a little further back in robot mode and painted the black wing rudders white, as well as the panel detailing that was supposed to be grey in the cockpit due to it being mostly gone when I bought the figure. I also removed the weathering from the air brake and the nose cone because, honestly, it was way to much. Transformed a few times, and from what I can tell, the wing hinges are still in tact. RotF Buster Optimus Prime-$150: Great piece, I acquired this through Savio Prime of TFW. The figure is in great shape, has Savio's hip hinge replacement parts that I helped design. These new parts allow the wheels connected to his hips to now slide up and sit flush against his hips and over the wheels on his thighs. The figure also has a newly added blue LED light replacing the green factory one! Human Alliance Barricade-$30: A little dry brushing done to his robot mode, but that's it. No frenzy though. Music Label Soundwave-$55: Perfect condition. Comes with everything originally included, PLUS an extra COMPLETE set of hands!! I had one before, but I FUBAR'd it, so I picked up another. I was in talks with someone about the figure, but he's seemed to of disappeared on me. The reason I'm selling off the 2 MP SS's is obvious. I want to either paint up a MPTC or, hopefully once Christmas comes around and I find a job, I can just buy one. Buster while awesome unfortunately won't hold a candle to the one I've been working on. Everything else, I simply don't want anymore, and what better reason to sell it than to buy things for my loved ones. Please, if you can help, it would be awesome. I know it's the holidays, and that not many have the money to spare, but if you're interested in something, and you have a price in mind, things aren't set in stone, so feel free to make an offer. I'll post pictures asap for those interested! Thank you all, and Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to everyone!!
  2. HOLY JEBUS MAN! That guy is gonna be FREAKIN HHUUUUUUGE Can I have it? :D
  3. I use enamels all the time O.o... Honestly, they are the best thing for HARD ABS plastics (which most of your TF's are), but as you said, not so good for anything softer, same goes for lacquer paints, they won't bond to your rubbery or softer parts either. For parts like that you would use acrylic paints. Best ones I've found are the Testors Model Master line acryls. As for don't do's, don't forget to wash the parts, don't just jump right into painting after you have washed the parts, even if you HAVE dried them off, because water could still be built up in those hard to reach ares, and DON'T rush yourself. If this is your first project, pace yourself, and take your time. And DON'T use thick coats of paint, you don't need to cover the whole surface in one shot, multiple thin coats are better. Also, don't forget to remove any factory paints, as they will show through your paint most of the time, especially if it's a painted surface with another painted section over it, you'll see the edges of each section. What I do recommend is look through modeling sites, and possibly other fan sites such as this one where you can find tutorials. They're a HUGE help for beginners.
  4. I painted a gundam model back in the day, and I didn't like how the paint came out, so I soaked the model in denatured alcohol, and it made the plastic EXTREMELY brittle. EXTREMELY.. As in it literally fell apart as I was taking out of the alcohol. Bad stuff man, don't do it... What ever you're trying to remove, don't use this.
  5. First post in a while, but I had honestly completely forgotten about that figure.. Which sucks, because I was actually thinking of grabbing it.. CRUD!!
  6. Hey guys, thought I would post something in here finally! Don't really know how the rules work anymore, but I know on TFW they kind of let us talk amongst ourselves in the sightings thread. Anyway, Thought I would say what's up and introduce myself, even if I have been a member here for.. a long.. LONG time, LOL. Anyway, if I find anything worth posting about, I'll try to post it here! Deliciouspeter, I didn't know you were an IL member, I always enjoyed your repaints back in the day :).
  7. I dunno if that would work, but I would think that it might not have the same structural integrity as regular sheet styrene. My favorite alternatives to blank sheet styrene is CD cases (like you mentioned) and older junker model kits (Gundam, EVA, Patlabor, etc)... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well, FG is right you can use the old models, but Ive hear that the for sale signs work acctually better than the styrene from a friend of mine. Its a cheap alternative to the styrene. But again, thats just what Ive heard.
  8. has anyone seen anything new in the Chicago-land area lately? The new Alts, or 10th Anni. BW figs??
  9. Hey all, I was just wonderin from those who live in NY. My GF lives on Long Island, but she doesnt want to drive all the way to the city to get me something that I want. So I was hoping that if perhaps someone knew of anywhere to pick them up on the island. Now I showed her that I wanted Megaro Convoy, but the closest place that I could give her was Image Anime, and she knows where it is, but she said its a good drive for her to get there, and I dont want her to go out of her way, you know? So any ideas, and locations would be great. Thanks all. OMEGAPRIME1983
