Hobby Japan August 2006 MP-3 Starscream Article

Does anyone think that it will even get a US release?

I do.  Alts are being sold in the US sucessfully and I think Prime did OK despite some shelf warmers out there.

I think he will have less/no diecast and be a significantly lower price point (30-40) and be released possibly as part of a high end line of alternators (possibly with tank megs).  Just my thoughts.

If I can get him for $40 in the states, I'll probably buy more than one to KB.

The idea of someone think this figure is basically an Alternator makes me raff heartily.

But in an ironic way, right? 'Cuz it's really not that funny.

In a way that only a guy that keeps a eHobby anime Astrotrain MISB to spite a fellow Tfan's member can.

:tflaugh

What if MP Screamer came with all of his "King" Movie gear? That would rock.

that would rock mightily.  If he doesn't come with it, I would buy a set if someone made it, like the trailer for prime.

Hell yeah!!! And not just his crown, but his cape too!  :thumb

All Transformers are the robots.

The vehicles are the disguise, they're secondary.

I disagree. They are Transformers. The fact that they have an alternate mode sets them apart from many other robots. That means the alternate mode is quite important.

if I thought the transformation was secondary, I'd get into gundam or something.

Yep the whole package - Crown, Cape, Shoulder-thingies (I refuse to call them shoulderpads) - remeber all of the little extras that came with MP Prime? These should be the extras w/'ol 'Screamer.

With those, the hip kibble would make even MORE sense - It would be what "Starscream, Leader of the Decepticons!" would've looked like if Galvy hadn't made 'Screamer super crispy.

And I think both modes should be represented as fairly as possible. This as good as it gets, and it's GREAT.

Actually, the first mold was as good as it gets in my opinion.

The second mold has more of the maker's personality than the characters.

Therefore those who are fans of TRANSFORMERS but not his style (or not the two combined) are not going to like it are they?

Maybe next you can go Starscream at someone for not like a Pat Lee posters 'cos they don't like his style or something.

After all, if the subject is Transformers we have to like it apparently. :roll

:tflaugh I still don't understand how anything you've said makes sense.  Whatever floats your boat, man- I just want to play with kids toys.

I just thought of something....

It would be really cool if Hasbro released the first MP Starscream mold stateside...that way everybody could be happy.

And I know I would buy both :thumb

I will buy one. I love it!

But I will not spend more than $40 bucks if the size is "Alt" class.

MP 1 was the BEST! Prime is worth $100.

Die cast metal, rubber tires, chrome, lights, springs, etc...

But if SS is smaller and lacks the same quality of Prime,

I will wait till he comes to USA.

Thanks for the updates TFans! Keep em coming!

I 'm pretty sure SS will still be a decent and respectable size.

And if it's not coming to America...I may pass. Importing things is more work than DN is worth

Sorry I couldn't simplify it any more.

Like most things in life my views and opinions are multi layered and not black and white.

Strangely, fandoms are the only places people don't seem to get that and apparently need to see it in more simplified terms...

And good for you. I like to play with kid's toys too.

Of course, I don't consider a $100 collectible a toy, nor do I think that because something is aimed at kids that everything is automatically simplified, but as you say, whatever floats your boat man. :thumb

22cm or roughly 8 inches tall in robot mode, 30cm or close to MP Prime in jet.
