I ran into a collector while I was in a TRU in Edmonton last weekend. He was actually an employee and I had him crawling all over looking for certain tf's for me. Funny thing was he was more than happy to help me out. Turned out he was a collector as well.

I sort of know a guy who posts at the Allspark... never asked what name he went by though

and I didn't volunteer any information about where I post either :tflaugh I was just like "the 'Allspark', huh? I'll have to check it out sometime."

I usually don't run into TF collectors, it's usually the scary Hot Wheels collectors that I bump into on the way to the stuff I want to look at.

I have met up with Starscreamer though, twice (on purpose ;)). Really cool guy. It's always a bit surreal to actually be talking to another fanboy who buys toys -- most fanboys I know are just the movie/game/TV kind and don't really get into toys so much anymore.

I met someone at my local comic book store tonight actually. He was looking through a big box of newer Blot (Armadaverse) and I had come up to show off my new dinocassettes to the shopkeeper. To my surprise he knew what they were. We exchanged emails, even though I'm pretty sure nothing will come of it.

nope but would like to met new collectors.

i love to show off my collection :)

I've met SolFire before..he gave me free WSTs and a reacharound. :luv

All the TF buyers I meet IRL are still in stage 2 (embarrassed purchasing) and walk away from me. I try to show them that there is no shame in collecting action figure puzzles but it never works :tfsad

xamot made a thread about what to spend his gov't cheque on (for albertans a while ago) and we found out we're both from a crappy town in alberta. now im in edmonton and i think theres a few TFans who live here but im not sure. working with another tfan rather than agianst is far better.

I bump into other TF collectors all the time. One recent time was at Myer and this dude was utterly convinced that a Masterpiece Megatron actually existed and that it was a US exclusive and that he had some friend in the U.S. who owned the toy.

...I told him that I was skeptical and would need further proof other than his repeated insistence... weird. I don't think I'd ever met another TF collector who openly bullBlotted like that since I was in primary school where there was this kid who went around school telling everyone that:

a. His mother worked in the Transformers factory and that she brought TFs home for him and that he had the entire collection - including one "female Decepticon" he made up in 1985 called "Tidalwave." The fact that we reminded him that the Transformers were made in JAPAN didn't seem to phase him.

b. The REAL Transformers lived in his backyard... and that Bumblebee drove him to school. Conveniently every time we waited to see Bumblebee pick him up, it'd just be his mum... he would just give us the excuse that Bumblebee must be busy fighting Decepticons.

c. He insisted that Sunstreaker was originally red. Actually, he was right... there was originally a red Diaclone Sunstreaker. But at the time we thought he was full of Blot (the boy who cried wolf).

I'm pretty much, to the best of my knowledge, the only TF collector/slight fan in my area.  I know there's another collector who lives either in the local city or on it's borders, but I've only spoken to him a few times in the Seibertron boards.  So it's not very likely that I'll meet any other collectors.
