I haven't met any in my area, but I know they're there.  Anytime I see a TF I want, and if I don't pick it up right then and there -it'll be gone tomorrow.  I figure its fellow fans beating me to them since whenever I go to the stores with my kids there are never any children interested in the TF shelf.

Sad thing is in my area I dont know any TF collectors, had some buddies who were big into Star Wars but I just could never get into that stuff, the movies were alright to watch once but I never had more than a passing interest at best.  It is amazing though how so many fanboys of star wars, tfs, manga stuff etc.. fall into those stereotypes.

Souther California TransFans are meeting Semi Regularly....

In fact we are going to be doing lunch and Laser Tag the second week of July.

(check out the conventions forum for more info)

Its weird when you run into a fellow collector.

A while back my family were getting an alarm system put in. When I got home from work the installer guy was all like "Where did you get the Suburu Transformer?!!?" [in reference to Alt. Smokescreen]

I've had that kind of thing with Cable installers. The last time was when I had a bunch of GI Joe tanks sitting in the living room, and the cable guy was like "oh sweet" and started talking about GIJoe. The only other time anyone has said something was when this one guy came over to install Cable at my mom's house and I was playing Quake 2 at the time. And the dude was like "i would whoop your ass in quake" and I just laughed at him.

Only one of my buddies is a Tfan.

And he is also into comics and such so it helps to know that I am not alone.
