So.. which parts do you think are going to get the metal treatment?

Belive it or not, I'm holding out final judgement until I see the underside of the alt mode. There's a lot of stuff on that robot mode that would have to be packed amazingly well in the alt mode.

Still, there are good signs: You can see on his shins what appear to be flaps for his landing gear (obviously his feet will fold up like that too, so maybe those flaps are just for the feet? I'm not sure the exact placement of the mechanics of an F-15), and I love the cockpit and how they got that working.

*laughs* I just had an evil thought, which I know isn't true.. but wouldn't it suck on so many levels if some of the parts of his bot mode were stored in the base?

The design drawings show an underside shot... it looks pretty well done all things considered. Certainly a lot better than the original toy (or show model).

Yeah, I've seen those design drawings.

The problem is that they don't show any of the mechanics of it, nor the break lines, or anything like that. So I take the design drawings as a "what we are hoping for" type situation. The resin model shows they've accomplished it amazingly well (could they have made a scaled-down resin model to make sure the mechanics held up? I'm not sure hwo they do protos, although I do know they make protos in different scales), but...

I've always been of the opinion that to pull off the lines of a jet properly, parts of the robot mode need to "collapse" and fold in to take up less room. I doubt this model does that.. and I'm just really curious to see how it transforms.

I do tend to agree w/ some of the posts over on TFW2005. They are staying, and I immediately thought, that the bot mode is just too blocky.

That makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a fork.

HE'S F*CKING SHOW ACCURATE AND THE FANS WOULD HAVE HAD KITTENS IF HE HADN'T BEEN GEEWUN-ACCURATE BLOCKY

jeebus :roll

Eh, he's close and I think I figured out what is wrong w/ him.

If you look at the pics, you can tell that his wings are not positioned the same in the front and back shots. In the back shot, they are raised up to where they need to be and that looks much better. In the front shot, he looks too much like RM SS w/ the low wings to suit me. Plus the air intakes aren't positioned forward like they should be and as is shown in the sketches. (To give credit where it is due, all of these observations were made at TFW2005, which I was reading while this site was temporarily down. Glad its back up!!!).

There was some slight mis-transformation (surprise surprise), but I think that when done correctly, he will be totally accurate.

EDIT: Also, I don't think the cockpit is rotated forward enough/pushed in on the bottom. The sketches clearly show that the neck is more exposed and the angle of the cokpit is slanted down much more. The proto has it almost flat to the body when it should probably be angled more. Anyway, one more thing that will undoubtedly help the accuracy and make him just look better overall.

Oh boy, the nit-picking starts.. :roll

Anyhow, this toy looks great. I really do hope it is as small as everyone seems to fear it is.....I don't have a ton of room.

My only complaint is something that will never change and can't be helped cos it is the nature of the character....however it doesn't change the fact that it is a minor Starscream for me:

I Hate The F---'n Colors!

The near white gray....the ugly baby blue...the hidious Orange cockpit and just a few trimings of red. My god I always thought this was ugly......but it is starscream.

I've got to throw this out..................Those colors are photoshoped on by Josh. Not official colors. :roll

He's looking great. The only reason I can wait for his release is so I can save money to buy him

Was just looking at the thread over at the Allspark and apparenly Starscream's 22 cm tall in robot mode. In other words, just slightly taller then an alt.

So, alternator Starscream finally come to fruitation then?  :tfgrin

I like this... I like it a lot. :clap

for the record. I hate anyone that hates this fig his is great and will look good with my collection, nuff said

Silver blue and red ARE StarScream's official colors FYI.

Skullfire is not the first person to state that Screamers colors are rediculous.

that has nothign to do with this mold or Josh- it is the character

Any F-15 jet that isn't flat gray is ridiculous IMO
