Hasbro bashing

However these toys were once $12-$15 dollars now they are a whopping $30?!  Of course they are going to stay on the shelves at TRU. The packaging is not al that great either, at least not for a $30 on up price point.

Some people are just too complacent.

Hmm…seems like someone didn’t go to his Principles of Business 101 class, there is a little thing known as inflation.

Inflation - A persistent increase in the level of consumer prices or a persistent decline in the purchasing power of money, caused by an increase in available currency and credit beyond the proportion of available goods and services.

Now don’t get me wrong 30 bucks for a toy the size of jazz is quite a bit high, but really think about it…they are low volume toys (G1 reissues) and between the die-cast parts, the boxes and possible fixes to the molds (they are old after all) the prices really are not that bad.

TRU also puts a big markup on the reissues since they have exclusivity

Hasbro didn't do anything of the sort on scale in 1984: All '84 Transformer molds were pre-existing from other toylines, and both the Seekers and Autobot cars were designed and tooled by Takara.

The Takara history I admit I knew nothing about. Still the G1 planes appeared to be about half of the scale in relation to the cars. Which brings up my point that they can do the same with alternators. Again why is this such ahard thing to agree on. This is a great idea. In fact I always thought that alternators Desepticon jets would be of a smaller scale. I'm just supprised that Hasbro never even considered the idea in the first place.

However no jets, fine then at least do something differnt with the "cons" military vehicals, monster trucks, drag racers, hot rods, maybe use proto-type cars of the future by the auto industry anything but repainting what we aready have and say thats the bad guy! :wtf

Also there is a reason why I did not reference G1 85 cos it was a repaint of and retool of G1 84. My rose colored glasses only remember the excitment of when G1 first came out, sorry.

of course the can make the jets a different scale, but they wont. They have said before that the alternators series is all about SCALE.

Yeah its real downer, as everyone wanted to see the jets...but what can u do. Obviously everyone is very passionate about the transformers, but I think some fans take the passion a little far to the point of sounding rather unstable.

I hope transfans never loose their passion, but some of need to be taking Prozac.

G1 reissues may be low volume toys but but someone mentioned that there are alot of them not paying the rent on TRU shelves.

TRU, Hasbro, sombody $30 is still too much.

Any bids for $20 :thumb

Eventually TRU will have to sell them cheaper to clear out stock. At least thats what I'm hoping for

I think we would all love to see that 20 bucks price happen....but I think there is a better chance of bill gates going bankrupt…and well we know how likely that is.

Yes, so much big profits. And because TRU could not sell the G1s at the high price and instead sell them as close outs to clear the shelves, instead of selling the next series for let say $20, they might just might not order any more from G1s from Hasbro claiming that there is not enough demand for the line.

TRU is the least of Hasbros worries; Wal-mart on the other hand beat down toy companies for a lower price. However ther is only a 2 cent difference between walmart and TRU.

Anyone hear Takara announce Decepticon jets in Binaltech yet?... Didn't think so.

Man if I were Hasbro toy designer I'd be pulling my hair out.

"And here's the new Alternator Tracks. He's got weapons up the wazoo AND a working cupholder!" :thumb

"But... he's not blue." :tdown

*twitch* :redface

Disclaimer: I have no idea what the Corvette Alternator will end up getting named or his color. That is all.

I think it's more of an issue of TRU not willing to carry such toys, and since TRU has the exclusive rights to G1 reissues, no Meggie for us.

Yet TRU carries thousands of other toys with smaller accessories than Transformers. I believe in comes down to one of two things. 1: They're covering themselves against libel in case of a lawsuit. 2: They've modified the designs (G1) to avoid confusion with the original releases, as to not tick off collectors, who feel the unscrupulous could mix and match parts. In my opinion I feel it comes down to number 1. There are so many frivilous lawsuits nowadays, that any company in America, has to put safety as its first priority. Should the seeker jet missiles be that long? Probably not, but Hasbro's looking at the bottom line, their bottom line! Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!

Accessory size doesn't have to do with what Meggie looks like, and I haven't seen anything that even remotely looks like that in a TRU in at least a decade.
