Alt. Prime Deserves Not To Suck (so I did this)

Recommended Posts

this is my first post, so hello all.

ive been lurking on the forum for a while and im in awe of your work - theres some terrific stuff here.

when i found this thread i was inspired to try my first alteration, im not a fan of primes shoulder kibble so i made the door swivel alteration first - and when i tried pushing the doors all the way back - it reminded me of gears' odd head.

this is very much a WIP and i dont at this point intend to alter the car mode.

still to do:

make knee alterations (as per this thread).

more red on the lower leg.

resolve the waist issue (maybe just paint the screws red!)

possibly paint the seats blue to emphasie the arms (hes got such big shoulders i figure maybe he can get away with it)

face - eyes blue and paint yellow bits red.

ive been using montana gold brand spray paint.

nice custom and welcome to the board.

looking at the picture there seems to be a triangular bit but it might be a bit too big unless you want it to stand out.

who would have known such a bad mold would have so much simple kitbash potential

Pardon the n00b question.

I am trying to determine whether or not the legs of my Alt OP are extended as far as they can without any modding. If I flip up the kneecap hoop section, and straighten the leg, the black section of the upper leg is about 1/4" above the thicker, truck bed section. See the attached pic. Is this as far as the extension trick goes? I have bent the knee adn pulled like crazy, but cannot get it to extend further.

Thanks for the help, and if anyone can show me an extended leg picture on an unmodded OP I would be eternally grateful.

yes that is as far as it goes. Apparently the first run of alt Prime instructions did not show the extension.

He looks like a turtle now. :tflaugh

Sorry couldn't resist. Cool custom overall. What happened to the seats/bumper?

I can't believe how many alterations can be done with this mold and most of em are pretty simple to and don't effect the transformation a lot. Just goes to show how much more inovative Hasbro could have been before rushing this out the door as is.

BTW welcome to TFans. :wave

That sig is hilarious! :tflaugh1

Anyways, I don't know if any of you guys have seen this mod or not (yes, I'm still keeping up with ALL of the Alt Prime mods), but check this thread at TFW2005 out.

I want to know how to do the chair mod for minion's alt prime

Thanks to this thread and others I have completed my Alt Prime conversion.

I combined both an American Alt version and the Japanese Kiss Convoy version to create my ultimate Alt Prime.

I also Extended the legs with TFmaster's guide and moved the seats off the arms. And I did some paint apps to the thighs, leg covers, feet and forearms.

Here's a link to more detail on my version which shows the seat mod and more:

That's nice! I like all the attention to detail you did on him....it all flows nicely, and is well executed.

I would also like to know how you did that Shockblast/wave foot mod....that looks real trick!

I'd prefer the chairs to not be glued together

Thanks, I'll put together some intructions on the Laserwave leg mod after I finish it.

On the seats you could bolt them together instead. There's no reason for the seats to not be coneccted to each other and it is extremely easy. When they are linked together on the back you don't ever see the inside halves where they connect anyway and everything transforms normally.
