Alt. Prime Deserves Not To Suck (so I did this)

Recommended Posts

Thanks, I'll put together some intructions on the Laserwave leg mod after I finish it.

On the seats you could bolt them together instead. There's no reason for the seats to not be coneccted to each other and it is extremely easy. When they are linked together on the back you don't ever see the inside halves where they connect anyway and everything transforms normally.

it's more me not wanting the tires to be so wide

Ah, I see. They do have to be widened all the way, but hey its better than having the seats on the arms.

well with minions shoulder mod I could just clue them to the doors :schin

That looks great man! :thumb

Did I miss the instructions for the leg mod, and NOW chair mod?

No, you didn't, there's a link in Golgo 013's post (#167) to how he did the leg mod and the seat mod....there's also a how to at TFmaster.com in the Minor Alterations section for the leg mod. Also I think STPrime posted the seat mod here in this thread, some pages ago....it's somewhere in here.

And Superquad is getting all this modding stuff together, organizing it, and is going to make an easy to read/follow along, "How to mod Prime" thread.... :thumb

ok, here is my semi-finished, minion inspired, alt op.paint app wise, i may add something to the legs like grey vents(not silver) and grey in the smushed stop sign shape of the legs. i may paint the 2 stripes yellow on the arms and i kinda like the rams with the entire grill silver instead of matching the paint. i may also find a way to attatch the black rails to the back of the cab too.

I would like to see a pic of that

Thanks to this thread and others I have completed my Alt Prime conversion.

I combined both an American Alt version and the Japanese Kiss Convoy version to create my ultimate Alt Prime.

I also Extended the legs with TFmaster's guide and moved the seats off the arms. And I did some paint apps to the thighs, leg covers, feet and forearms.

Here's a link to more detail on my version which shows the seat mod and more:

Hey I was just looking at this from the link superquad provided. Thanks. :thumb

Awsome job and welcome to TFans. I love the comprehensive guide provided in the thread. I have yet to find a Alt Prime but when I do I'm definitely going to try out the leg mod. I personally don't care for modding or cutting up any of my TFs but Alt Prime needs it bad enough to make an exception.

The seat mods pretty good to but personally they really don't bother me any. Guess I'll know for sure once I can aquire one.

this is my first post, so hello all.

ive been lurking on the forum for a while and im in awe of your work - theres some terrific stuff here.

when i found this thread i was inspired to try my first alteration, im not a fan of primes shoulder kibble so i made the door swivel alteration first - and when i tried pushing the doors all the way back - it reminded me of gears' odd head.

this is very much a WIP and i dont at this point intend to alter the car mode.

still to do:

make knee alterations (as per this thread).

more red on the lower leg.

resolve the waist issue (maybe just paint the screws red!)

possibly paint the seats blue to emphasie the arms (hes got such big shoulders i figure maybe he can get away with it)

face - eyes blue and paint yellow bits red.

ive been using montana gold brand spray paint.

I love this mod of Alt Prime. So, if I do the door mod listed way back when in this thread and rotate the doors back, it will look like this? It will still transform normally and everything? The seats are still operational and on his arms?

Is just doing the door mod that hard? It looks easy, but this would be the most altering to a toy I've ever done.

Thanks and keep the awesome mods coming!

Oops, pic got lost. Here it is.

post-2535-1159654738.jpg

the door mod is easy enough - its just a matter of shaving off that little bit of blue plastic that would otherwise stop it rotating.

and yeah the doors are still on his arms - i just pushed the seats back instead of forward.

have fun!
