Discussion on Transmutant

Recommended Posts

Yeah, Rampage was stored in stasis in the Axalon's hold to be dumped somewhere barren and isolated from any civilisation, because they accidentally created a supposedly immortal psychopath. I guess they never tried cutting his spark in half with an energon blade, then exploding one half by impaling it with a crystal of raw energon :roll

And nobody has answered me with what the BotCon Wreckers comic's version of Devcon was a repaint of.

I wouldn't be so quick to say that the crew of the axalon only consisted of Primal, Rattrap, Cheetor, and Rhinox. Here's a few examples of why some of the "protoforms" may have been full-blown transformers before signing on with the Axalon's mission.

1) Rampage was a full transformer before hand, we saw him in the flashback. He was sealed in the pod, but does that mean he went to blobby form, or did he remain robotic, simply in stasis? Either way, he wasn't "new" or "unborn".

2)Tigertron opened his own pod before his beast form had been chosen, and we saw a robotic hand, not a blobby protoform.

3) Doesn't Primal say something along the lines of "I've got friends out there"? Granted, it could have been a statement regarding fellow Maximals, but it could have been a real statement regarding real friends he knew before they were sealed in stasis.

4) They're called "STASIS" Pods, not "UNBORN" Pods.

Now, the arguments against:

1) Rhinox talks about Sparks going on and offline when he's trying to save the Protoform that becomes Airazor. If she was alive before Stasis, then wouldn't her Spark have been online the whole time?

Answer: Yes, it was. Rhinox was trying to prevent her spark from going offline.

Now, I don't know what the writers have stated afterwards, what they intended, or what was created, but if I had just the show to go off of(which I do), I'd say that the term "Protoform" merely denotes a Transformer with no alternate mode. It could be that most "Transformers" on Cybertron don't have alt modes simply because they don't need them in times of peace.

We've seen two reasons that I can think of for transformation; one is to hide, the other is for protection. If you don't need to do either, there's no reason for an alternate mode. Granted, that'd make things pretty boring, so we could say they all do, but it's just to get from point A to point B faster.

And nobody has answered me with what the BotCon Wreckers comic's version of Devcon was a repaint of.

the red/white/blue car? i think its bm mirage.

and concerning the discussion about the protoforms, id agree that they were active before the trip on the axalon. theres prolly some procedure to turn their bodies into protoforms for "sleeping" time in the stasis pods.

and as i recall in the airazor episode, she was jello, then he made her solid to buy some time, then once he was ready for dna scanning it turned to jello again. so going back and forth from protoform to solid form cant be that difficult if they dont already have a given mode.

Uhm, it was stated that the stasis-pods were inhabited by the crew of the Axalon. Like I already said, only a core crew of 4 Maximals remained on board to try and save the ship. The rest of the crew was jettisoned into space. The reason to store the robots in Protoform is likely to be energy-efficiency. It's not because they are young, or haven't decided on an alt-mode yet.

BM Mirage! Of course! Man I'm an idiot, it's actually one of the few BM toys I own :redface

In Agenda Part one Silverbolt said "Cybertron the home I have never known" If he was alive prior then he wouldn't have to say this.

The protoforms are the TF equivalent to Fetuses.

In YOUR theory. I still say TFs reproduce sexually.

By fetus I just ment "Unformed blobby thing that has the potential to become a human".

Oh, come on Lazerblast and X-BoB58... you two are breaking my balls here! Are we going to come to a deal with these TF Fetuses or are you guys just going to keep breaking my balls?!? You're both breaking my balls here...

:rofl

[Edit]I just thought I'd throw some much needed humour in here because people are getting too debate-itive & since this discussion has gotten off it's original point. ... ... :schin ... Even though, it HAS already been answered... ... :schin ... oh well! [/Edit]

On the other hand, when Tigatron first emerged he admitted that he seemed to have lost his knowledge of who he was, indicating that he existed as a Transformer before he was a stasis pod protoform.

In Agenda Part one Silverbolt said "Cybertron the home I have never known" If he was alive prior then he wouldn't have to say this.

Rampage was a protoform when he dropped to the planet. He was referred to as Protoform X, and was found in a stasis pod. Rampage had also already destroyed a colony. This is why Depth Charge was after him.

By that logic, how could Rampage have had a prior existence, AND been a Protoform if Protoforms are completely unborn TFs?

Considering what happened to Primal at the beginning of BW Metals, It seems protoforms are just bodies, and that sparks can be easily transferred into new bodies. Protoforms are used to make a body that adapts to the planet they land on based on genetic scan. The spark is the important, intractible part.

They were probably planning on jettisoning Rampage with a protoform because they wanted him in exile, but they don't have a death sentence.

Most of the Protoforms EXEPT Rampage did not have a prior existance
