I think I paid a retarded amount of money ($90) for a mint on sealed card Canadian G1 Bast Off and I opened it. I also opened all the European reissue Stunticons I bought for about $40 a piece.

If it's a reissue I'd say open it. If it's a MISB original G! I would say don't open it. If it's anything else I'd say open it unless it's a giftset or a reissue Predaking.

meh, toys are to be played with.

I open everything.

I personally think that not opening TFs, of all toys, defeats the purpose of what they really are: transformable toys.

I usually keep my non transformable-stuff MISB/MOSC (ie, my TF and anime girl PVCs), but the transformable stuff all gets opened unless it's a double.

Well, as many have said before, they are TRANSFORMERS and are meant to be TRANSFORMED!!! Sure, if I buy a MISB G1 on eBay, I probably wouldn't open it; of course this means I'll never buy a MISB :tftongue

Of course, I like to display my Transformers in their boxes, so I just put them in the boxes while they're not in use, and when I want to play with them, I take them out! Easy! lol

But seriously, I'm one of those people who, as soon as they get home with their figure, they tear it open (carefully of course :tftongue )

Yeah. I mean I definitely keep all the boxes and only carefully take my figures out. This is in case I ever get into a trading situation and the other party wants the boxes. However, I definitely see keeping them in the box as defeating the purpose. Thanks for the insight everyone!

My wife said that I wasn't a real collector if I opened everything & I was like stfu. Then I saw a TFans member with alot of mib or misp & thought it looked good so I have some stuff never been opened. Her "rule" had some since for an outsider looking in. Plus she buys alot of stuff for me.

I agree with this. If it's old and worth money, dont open it. If it's new and you just bought it dont even think, just open it. If I couldn' t imagine never tranforming my Alts, never posing THS Convory or never forming Omega Prime. That would be so boring.
