Is it a She/He? lol

 

I went to Target earlier today, not even looking for Overdrive and it was there sitting on the shelf. By far, one of the cooler TFormers in the Series. Very poseable, cool transformation and would look awesome as a cop car.

 

Well, I picked up Red alert a week or so ago, and I assume that Overdrive and Red alert are packaged together... However, I have decided I don't want Overdrive, and am thus importing, if for no other reason than the fact that Nitro Convoy is a guy. =P No, I'm not sexist, I just feel such translation butcherings are not something I'm going to support.

I agree on the Override=guy thing. If at least they'd turn his animation model into a female's(like what they did with Airrazor)for Cybertron, I'd be okay with it, but they kept the obviously masculine one. I don't even see how they could turn it to a female even then, as even the Cybertron-exclusive Override art in the Speed Planet map makes him/her look like a drag queen.

 

Anyway, I think he looks really cool too, but I don't really like the auto-changers myself. I prefer to TF them by myself. Other than that, nice figure for price point.

I like Overide depite what gender the toy is.

 

If Habro wants to make him a her it doesn't change the fact the toy is identical to it's GF counterpart and he/she can be whatever I want him/her to be. :thumb

They did some color changes and paint app changes.

And they added a purple Autobot insignia.

Save a couple of added altered paint aps it is still basically the same toy. For those of you who want to import, I'm glad for you. I'll just wait until he surfaces domestically and go with that. FWIW I'm thinking of keeping him as Nitro Covoy despite the gender change. :thumb

I have Red alert and love him - but i passed on Override NOT because of his theoretical gender - but because the toy sucks...

My Guess: Hasbro made the design for Cybertron Override female and sent it over to Takara to be made into a toy.  Takara wanted it to be male so that's what they did. Hasbro kept their idea of it being female and went with it.

 

 

It's still pretty dumb though.
