Cybertron: Overrride

Recommended Posts

I also must say that the toy sucks. I have:

Optimus Prime

Vector Prime

Clocker

Jetfire

Overhaul(I really want to call him Brawl, I have no idea why)

Hot Shot

Landmine

Scattorshot

Crumplezone

Hardtop

Ransack

And Override is my first disappointment in the Cybertron line. The auto-transformation sucks, the design is crappy, it can't stand worth a damn, and it can't hold the dang gun up! Car mode is pretty sweet, it reminds me of the Mach 5 from Speedracer, but everything else about the toy is a sad, sad thing.

I suppose there has to be a few bad toys here and there with a so-far really good line, but I thought Hasbro had learned it's lesson about auto-transformation back in Beast Wars?

Still waiting for her/him to pop up eventially. I just got Red alert a week ago so Overide shouldn't be too far behind. :thumb From what I'm understanding Overide is either a love it or he it figure so I'm not sure what to expect. So far my only really colossal disappointments in the Cybertron line have been Thundercracker, and Clocker. Thundercracker because of the awkward unfinished design, and Clocker because of the white paint over orange mold opposed to Takaras orange over white resulting in a very sloppy unfinished off white, :puke Also this is the first one where the missing/unfinished paint aps really really bother me. :tdown

Override is a cool character and I kind of like her being female. With that said, I think Override is one of the crappiest toys I've seen in recent years. The car mode looks cool and the bot mode has quite a bit of good style to it. BUT.... the way it transforms and how it doesn't want to stay together REALLY SUCKS. The crotch gimmick sucks. The way that piece flips around and attaches to her back sucks. The way the rubber on the ends of the guns is soft and the fact that the two guns point in at each other sucks. Overall, Override is cool to look at, but I wouldn't want to touch her. She'd fall over. Meh. :wtf

I'm gonna have to see........Her on the Cybertron show before I can believe it.

IMO, her show persona is pretty convincing.  She's still pretty butch looking, but her show model is pretty androgynous in several areas, especially the face.

I can't get over the fact she's made to be a female...so I'm importing this one too. But the thing is why force a "male" looking bot into a female?? As much as I try, it's a tough one for me aesthetically speaking.

I'm almost certain that it was the other way around, that Hasbro had intended her to be a butch-looking fembot, and Takara turned around and made her male.  Hasbro's the one who designs the characters in the first place, afterall.

Yup, from everything I've heard, Hasbro planned on Override being a female all along. If people want to Starscream about mistranslation of characters, blame Takara, not Hasbro.

:pfx and TAZ-BOT rolled into one.

Does anyone else think the vehicle mode "kinda" looks like G1 Arcee? Is it possible that it looks nothing like it and I just need some crack?  lol

I think it was intended to. Arcee in car mode, Minerva in bot mode.

Also, Red alert seems to be an homage to Crackcase.

What's with the random hole on the top of the carmode?  and the lopsided peg on the undercarriage of the red thing?  they look like they line up but i haven't figured out anything for that yet.

BTW - I dig her, and Red alert rules as well.  I was heavily impressed with RA's legs, the way they come together and still have poseability.

I really liked Red alert's leg transformation as well. It was really innovative.

If you leave the gun on her back that plugs into the hole on the top of the gun.
