I hate Snipers

Recommended Posts

You snooze you lose. :tfevil

Exactly.

Here's something I think we often forget:

Until that auction closes, the item is not yours. You have no more right to it than a last-minute sniper does.

Either way, there should be no problem with getting sniped if you know how to bid effectively. It's not a sniper's fault that you failed to put in a max bid high enough to protect you at the close of an auction. And you had better be watching that auction close or I got no sympathy for you.

agreed...  I'll manually snipe or I'll just put in my limit on what I'm willing to pay, that way emotion won't take over me in a bidding fight.

THE DOWNSIDE to setting a limit is you may win.

Case in point, I now have won 2 RM-Starscreams from ebay.  I only wanted one.  The 2nd one I got at a really good deal (under $20 shipped) but at the end I was hoping to be out bid.  Oh well, I'll offer him up here for sacrafice.

"Sniping" unfortunately is the only good way to win something on ebay.  IT does not pay to bid war for days.  It however does pay to enter the "race" with a faster car and outrun them on the last lap.  So to speak.

Can't believe people are actually discussing sneaky ebay bidding.  :rofl

Anyone that emails you, and personally attacks you for winning or bidding for no good reason, should be reported to eBay. It's against their TOS, because they're using eBay's facilities to attack you. Big nono.

That very same factor is what disencourages me from buying there.  :tfmad My bidget's too limited to be playing the "higher bidder". I rather wait to buy it somewhere else online.

My brother told me is a technique used by buyers to ensure they win the auction. And apparently they don't acre about paying more.
