Worst Alternator

Recommended Posts

I'll second and third that. Although he's Optimus, I hate him in both modes. The vehicle mode refuses to come fully together and his robot mode is a brick.

Swerve...yech. I bought him a long time ago and sat on it for a week and took him back. Now he's worth mucho bucks? For what? Honestly. I had him in my house like and kicked him out like a guest that stayed too long.

The Mustangs...nuff said.

Ricochet. Doesn't look bad once you wipe the flames off of him.

Sideswipe just got the poor shake of the stick due to problems in the start of the line. Dead End I fell in love with.

Smokescreen was cool but bleh and Bluestreak I fell in love with as well.

Love the RX-8s. I have 2 Jazz's so i added his G1 stickers to him and he looks 50 times better than all white.

I only own 2 loose and 4 boxed, but the Ravage that turns into a cougar looks lame.

Ram Prme.

Glorious truck mode but seriously wtf were they smoking when they devised his transformation/bot mode? A spychanger two pack wrapped in paper.

What frustrates me even more is how movie Ironhide is damn near flawless. The scheme would not be hard to pull off in the alt line with a convincing interior/ Prime is just the result of fitting the alt doller point. :tdown

I don't own Alt Optimus, but I did own Alt Nemesis, so I can say with some authority that Alt Optimus blows chunks. Nemesis is a piece of crap with a good color scheme. So Optimus, logically, is a piece of crap with a crap color scheme.

Shockwave is one of those toys that looks amazing but has some SERIOUS problems. I struggled for like fifteen minutes trying to figure out the trick to get his damn head through the teeny-tiny opening in the hood. Thank God I got him on clearance.

Camshaft fails for taking the lame RSX mold and giving it even lamer colors. The proportions on that mold are horrible; it's got a gigantic chest with stick-figure arms, and you have to switch the friggin' legs just to get them to bend properly.

On the other hand, Ricochet is pimp; I don't care what you guys say about him. The Impreza's a pretty solid mold, but Smokescreen is a garish nightmare of decals and Silverstreak is the opposite: boring as hell. They've all got their flaws but I put Rico on top.

Optimus/Nemesis Prime for me, the alt modes are beautiful, but the robot modes are a severe case of 'What they hell were they thinking?'. Nice head designs, but the rest of the bot modes are horrible.

Agreed. Its a prime example of how you can be the best and the worst at the same time. Kinda like being Employee of the month! ^_^

For me, even the worst in this line is still light years beyond most TF toys (although they seem to be catching up). With that being said, who is your least favorite in the Alternator line so far and why?

I have to go with Ravage. Why? Because they took a cassette bot and turned him into a  normal sized TF/car. Now how the is he supposed to fit in Soundwave? As trivial as this sounds, it really does bother me. When did ravage get on par with Shockwave or Grimlock? It's almost insulting. However, he still rocks and is a proud member of my collection and well worth picking up. I am happy I did.

Who is your least fav.?

HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE RAVAGE!?! Battle Ravage mind! I love the concept of Ravage being a "normal", "independent" Transformer. I think it suits his personality much much better having him able to function completely on his own. And a robot mode version just completes the concept for me. Alt B.Rav is free of any constraint. He now has no master and can pursue his own ends. He's armed to the teeth and can stand toe to toe with his greatest foes. I love my Battle Ravage.

My least fave is, therefore, Jaguar Ravage. Battle Ravage is more than sufficient. Jag Rav is a waste of a mold. They should have done Ironhide/Ratchet or a SOUNDWAVE instead! Although, the individual toy does look ok.

The other ones that I dislike are all the minor characters that they did as repaints. Camshaft, Swerve, Decepticharge etc. WTHell? They could have done repaints of Skids as the before mentioned Ironhide and Ratchet instead. Or a Suberu Prowl. Or Ram Ironhide! Ram Soundwave! Waste. And what about a new mold MEGATRON!!!

Camshaft - This figure represents the "so close yet so far away" award winner. Alt mode is consistent with the G1 character but is bland compared to the other alts. The ReproLabels decals help immensely, but a flat grey car doesn't do much for most.

He's metallic grey - they used the same plastic for movie Jazz.

It still looks like ass :tfevil

But Camshaft has mold differences from Alt Prowl (based on the BT blue version), and his arms look cool if you turn them around and assemble them correctly. Rollbar, on the other hand, is completely worthless.

i'd have to vote rumble as the worst of the line he just dosent look right any way you look at him .... even blindfold lol

Sideswipe is the worst looking Alternator bar none! The mandatory Karate stance, a nose that resembles the Tin Man's, a hood that hangs off the back like some type of kilt, and last but definitely the worst, the unsightly way his trunk hangs off of his back like a fanny pack(worst kibble in the line). Not to mention his bot mode has NOTHING in common with his G1 self. It's no wonder why this is the Alternator I modified as much as I did. Now he's the best Alternator in my collection.

This would have been much better as a poll.

Considering he was Tracks up until the last minute, I'm not surprised he has nothing in common with his original toy.
