Worst Alternator

Recommended Posts

Actually - come to think of it - the worst Alternator ever produced, in my opinion, has to be Ricochet. YUCK! SO terrible that I stopped trying to like him and gave him away to my friend's 4 year old son. I knew he'd destroy that thing in under an hour and it deserved no better and I shed no tears.

But yeah, in terms of molds, I'll stick with the Viper (Sideswipe). But I would never get rid of him. Not unless Hasbro were ever to produce an updated version of him which is very unlikely - especially now that Alts have gone kaput. :tdown

By the way T-man - what is it about that Prime necklace that makes you want to touch your nipples? :tflaugh

Just kidding

Swipes is the closest thing to a brick in this line. Next in line are the mustang and ram molds. I don't like the "cape" on the rustangs, and I don't like the cinder blocks with toes posing as legs for the rams.

id have to say grimlock, simply HE'S NOT A CAR, he needs the masterpiece treatment. as far as ravage, he a straight om. to beast wars

t-rex not stang

heh, actually i think he looks great as a mustang although i didnt like the idea.

My least Fav mold is the Mustang - pure frustration - not fun at all in anway shape or form.

However - objectively i would say that Rumble is the weakest Mold.

I think its funny reading through these that many people are naming repaints or character choices as reason to hate the figure.

I simply choose design.

(BTW -to all of you Ravage haters - Jag-Rav is really awesome!)

jag ravage is sweet. i got him right next to MP megs sweetnees!!

Nemesis Prime/Optimus Prime mos def! Stocky, blocky, kibble bot! Virtually unpose-able. Transforming it back to vehicle mode is a Starscream, and really doesn't come back together nicely. Open the hood, and see the floor below, because it's front end is almost hollow! I feel bad for those of you who spent a grip on this Alt. I can't believe they wanted to make an icon like Prime into this embarrassment. It makes the other Dodge mold (Viper) look like a masterpiece. I guess, this just proves one thing: Dodge's suck.

I like the Ram / Viper molds a lot. What I don't like so much is the Corvette mold. There is nothing fun about it at all. A pain in the ass transformation, and your reward is a no-articulation kibble beast that puts RiD to shame.

Like others on this thread, I have several "worsts", depending on your point of view:

Worst Mold

Dodge Ram trucks - The only brick-formers in the line IMO, even though I love my Trailbreaker kitbash of Nemmy. Of course, as has been said by others, the worst of this line is miles better than many of the G1 figures.

Worst Transform

Mustangs - Way too difficult the first couple of times, but a kick@$$ alt mode

Worst Character

Decepticharge - If you can even call him a character. I love that mold but rather have had any number of Autobots instead of him.

Worst Value (Tie)

a.) Swerve - impossible to find and ridiculously overpriced online when all you're getting is a repaint of Tracks with a head that belongs on the red Dodge Ram. Honestly, I'd have been happier / more accepting of the mold being used to make Road Rage instead. In fact, if I ever get a hold of Swerve, I'm going to do two kitbashes - Repainted ALT Prime with Swerve head and Swerve body with repainted Tracks head. And then all will be right with the world. ;-)

b.) Camshaft - This figure represents the "so close yet so far away" award winner. Alt mode is consistent with the G1 character but is bland compared to the other alts. The ReproLabels decals help immensely, but a flat grey car doesn't do much for most. Bot mode is inconsistent with the G1 character and looks like Prowl went undercover. Paint apps on the shoulders are on the wrong sides of his arms. His transform is frustrating, second only to the 'Stangs. Add on top of that limited availability and high prices online. Honestly, for those of you that pine for one of these, your money could be better spent on lots of other TFs - he's really not that good.
