Last Episode of Energon

Recommended Posts

It's a kid's show, trying to understand the whole Kicker deal is as usefull as to try to understand why Team Rocket tries to steal Pikachu all the time.

Well atleast Team Rocket was enjoyable to watch. Heck, I used to watch Pokemon JUST for Team Rocket.. screw Pikachu and Ash.. teh boring.  :tfevil

Personally, I don't think the Japanese version of Superlink would of saved the show from it's fate.. aside from better dialoge, it's still the same story over all.

bigds9fan - yup you totally get it.  Imagine if E-Devy took G1-Devy's spot in TFTM -

Kup, Hot Rod, Look!

Kup:  Devastator.

(Devastator looks over).  Oh, hi guys.

ok maybe not that bad, but certainly not up to par.

So much Starscreaming about Kicker. It's almost like he's a real person. Oh wait. No he's not. He's a cartoon character. I guess since he's such a bad character and isn't very interesting, the writers should make Rad, Carlos, and Alexis the main characters again. :roll I don't think he's all that bad. He was a definite improvement over the Armada brats. It's just too bad the dub engineers couldn't get his words right.

Yeah the voice acting / dialogue and crappy CGI killed this show on the few occasions when it went to proper animation (Megs v Inferno, prime v Galvatron) it looked awesome, i could even have stood the crappy dialogue but sadly it didnt last long :(

x-bob i think you are saying you like energon and armada better than bw and bm, in bw the characters were less stereotypical as they developed and changed their attitudes, and bm was awesome, the reason rattrap was acting like that was because he felt that he got a lame body, and the fact that he couldn't transform early on didn't help his viewpoint, you could tell it was the same character

rhinox being tankor was interesting to me, tough it isn't seeming right that rhinox should start to view things meg's way. and cheetor's coming of age and a decent ending, really made the beast saga for me. yeah primal made megatron sacrifice himself but it was the only way.

energon and armada seemed to borrow too much of the other shows and not give the bots anything decent to say and not questioning primes orders ca be wrong

His spark seemed to be corrupt.

Thanks for the praise Maximo Prime.  :tfgrin

Benson Yee once commented that Rattrap getting his new body changed him. Imagine you had lost an arm in a war and was fored to go back in. You would be scared too because you knew you could be hurt and because you now have less abillites than you used to have.

Rhinox changing really saddened me as he was my favorite character. But it was a change that made the show interesting as they really managed to shock people with that.

The characters really changed though one could argue that some Energon characters changed even more. From being alive to dead.  :tflaugh A much bigger change but I prefer the changes in Beast Wars such as Rattrap becoming less of a coward.

David Kaye.

I liked the hand-animation used in the last op-galvy battle, but what was with those odd frame jumps everytime someone fell back.  ruined it.  it was like they forgot how to animate fully.

OTOH, watching Op's eyes squint in that one scene was pretty damn cool.  liked the detail there.

Despite providing IMO great combiner toys, the characters held absolutely NONE of the mystique of the G1 combiners.  Even with their less-than-par mental states, the G1 combiners had jaws dropping upon their debut.  Watching the guys combine, and grow to ridiculous proportions, and really tear things up.  What at all did the E-combiners do, besides shoot at each other and turn into balls of light?  Not to mention not sounding any different than a singular robot.  The combiners were pretty much the same thing that Optimus went through with his OP 1-4 thing.  One guy wearing arms and legs.   Nothing about the way they acted in singular mode versus combiner mode was really that different.

alright, i'm sorry, enough Starscreaming.  as a whole, I'm really curious why i continued to wake up at 6 in the morning to manually tape the show (and remove commercials) when it continued to disappoint.  it wasn't awful, it just... wasn't that great.  Armada's ending was better.

I never got to see more than 4 episodes of Energon (5 if you count the one time I fell asleep with the TV on and woke up to someone saying something and falling to sleep again) and none with the Combiners. They sound like Brawl without his personality component. Also didn't Super-Link have the Omnibots make sounds when they worked? I can't remember but I think some one made funny sounds in a TF show...

THe BEast Eara is my favorate Generation, I'm just tired of Micron and superlink getting no love.

Completely understandible.

But if no one loves Armada/Micron Legen or Energon/Superlink there has to be a reason.

I buy a lot of DVD's. Lots of movies (which I do not often watch immediately) and several TV shows. Bought several Buffy DVD boxes on DVD and am watching them right now. Started immediately and though there was a pause of a few weeks that I did not watch any eps I am back on in.

Beast Wars season 3 and The Simpsons season 5 box set I watched in one evening and 2 respectively. Enerprise season 1 took me a whole week to watch.

When I got the 2nd R.I.D. I watched the better episodes but the rest is unwatched, just like the first box.

Armada, still untouched. (I did buy all 4 Energon DVD's and watch those but mostly because I did not know the episodes.)

So for me Armada is no priority. I love the toys with the Mini-Con partners but the cartoon (especially after the Beast Wars/Beast Machines cartoons) is a let down. It gets better at the end with the Unicron Battles though.

But most of the first epsiodes are not always what one would call brilliant. Shame as may be but that is how I see it. The Armada comics were very cool though.
