transformers just aren't doing very well in japan since the japanese prefer their giant mecha to be piloted by humans. they just don't like the idea of giant sentient mecha at all. i think hasbro is just going to end up hurting takara financially in the long run if hasbro continues to push takara into making tf's.

 

here's what i think hastak should do: Takara should fall back on the old diaclone formula which is human piloted mecha that transform into vehicles. that would probably go over better in japan than the tf concept. then, hasbro can import the toys under the tf brand name and make up their own backstory/cartoon for the toyline.

Hehe...so basically the same as every series since RID/Car Robots. Just this time with human pilots?

 

Well I don't like the overall idea of Humans/Aliens piloting TF's, so personally I wouldn't like the idea overall. Of course a good TF toy is a good TF toy and I'd be into the better ones.

But I kinda feel 'meh' about it. Though if enough people are behind it, it could probably happen. But 'meh'...

 

PS: I don't expect Takara and Hasbro to split, don't see as though it would work so well.

Hasbro + Takara = HasTak or TakBro or TakHas or Haskara...

 

Any of them will suffice, but HasTak is the most commonly-used one.

We in america would have better access to toys, too and our opinons would hit up with hasbro a lot better. And no more international teasing from Japan.

I'm against that idea of the two breaking off their TF colaberation. first off alternators would be out the window sence the two companys obvously have worked pretty closely on that. Also I really dislike the current hasbro designed tfs. examples of course would be swoop\grimlock, kicker\highwire, and of course alpha Q. Frankly I think hasbro is to far out of practice at produceing tf figures on their own. I do however think that in order for tfs to be 100% entertaining, for the american audence we need a non-dubbed tf cartoon. You know as in back in the beastwars\machine's days. however as i already stated we need has\tak to keep producing tf toy together

I think what Hornet is suggesting is that the toys essentially remain the same for both companies, but Takara's will come with little Micromen pilots.

 

This would mean that both would need two different cartoons. Takara's has TF's as mindless robots piloted by human characters who would essentially be the stars of the show. Hasbro would need a different one where the TF's are sentient and the main characters.

 

That plan is less cost effecient. I don't think the companies will be splitting soon.

you know its funny, i was just thinking to myself earlier that the next "evolution" in TF series would be human pilots. all i can say is, the second i hear that North America is getting an original series and isnt set for the 4-8 age range, but more towards the 10-13 age range (BW/BM) that is when TF's will do A LOT better in my eyes. Just seems like at the current state that TF's are in, both sides are losing, so i dont get why not just go back to when TF's were at their prime (no pun intended) but dare i say when that was? yes i do....DURING THE BEAST WARS!!!! CHARACTER DEVOLOPMENT PEOPLE!!!!! NOT 30 MIN LONG COMMERCIALS!!!!
