I cannot speak for Devestator, as I have not seen many pieces like it, but that Arcee figure is based directly on a very commonly scratch-built prototype design. I've seen lots of people build, cast, and sell them for $50-$80. Ten to twenty times that is not justified by work nor availability in the scratchbuilding community. And here I was thinking the most insulting thing the threadstarter was going to post was the pricetags...

I'm confused . . . does this Devastator even transform into anything?

I'm not kidding. If you've got something like it or know someone who has or can build something like it I'm interested in further development. Arcee needs to be produced.

To Arceeproto, that is one hell of a Devastator, if I had that kind of money, I'd seriously consider it. But I dont, so I'll just have to enjoy the pics instead. As for the Arcee, ya imo, it's alittle overpriced, but there is obviously some intrisic value in it and it looks very well done. Perhaps if it was painted, it would be of more value.

 

Anyway good luck to you, I hope you can sell/trade these items for what you and the buyer feel is an acceptable value.

Hey dude, you serious??? I didn't know the Arcee mold is so common. $1000 is overpriced for me but I didn't know these are sold so cheaply before? Please do forward me to someone who sells this at about $50. Think many of us here would like to get their hands of one too, but you can pm me as this is still arceeproto's thread no matter what.

He is not "blowing smoke". This forum is here BECAUSE there are kitbashers/custom-makers here who CAN make their own Arcee (or just about any other character they can imagine). That's the POINT of this forum: for those of us who can, to showcase our skills and creations.

I remember that first one. The guy who made it actually pitched the product to Hasbro, but they didn't take. It sold on ebay for about $300.

 

Edit: hmm...the one in the first pic is the same one as what arceeproto has. And yes, as mentioned above by me and as mentioned by Arceeproto on his website, I believe the makers did pitch this toy to Hasbro. But as mentioned by me, they didn't take. Anyways, the guys who made them sold 1 on ebay and the closing price ended up being about $300. I think this guy bought them for about the same price and is trying to sell it for $1000.
