And thought this thread was about character. :P

G1 prime and G1 mega

for now, none prime and mega can over them, galaxy prime is 2nd

BW Optimus Primal and BM Megatron.

Movie Rodimus Prime was cool for the whole 2 minutes he had on screen, but he kind of went downhill after that.

omega prime if that counts...and G1 megs.

i wonder what would happen if starscream tried to snap megs in half while a gun

Galaxy Force Convoy is the best IMO...he has all the elements of a leader...knew when to step in and take charge...and knew when to open up a can of @$$ kicking! (see GF ep 51).

And while I want so say that GF Megs is also good...I have to go with the BW/BM Megatron...guys, he WON. Took over cybertron, took out everyone...and truly gave Primal the greatest fight ever. Plus caught everyone off gaurd at times.

BW Optimus Primal and Megatron are my absolute favorites.

But if were just talking about Prime and the real Megatron (not one who just took the name), then I'm going with the G1 Marvel comic books Prime and Megatron.

BW Optimus Primal and BM Megatron.

More like they dropped him over a cliff

I love BW Megs but i wouldn't say he won. He did  leave earth strapped to  space rocket. But I've never been able to connect him to the BM Megatron for 2 reasons. 1) he hates organic but he never showed this before. Seemed to rather enjoy being a predator. We don't see where this POV comes from. 2) His beast mode. All the others go technorganic but when we see their earlier forms they look like BW. Megs' looks technorganic but he hasn't been reformatted(we do get a brief look at technorganic Megatron when Primal trys to reformat hm). When did he change. It also seems weaker then the BW dragon. He drew with Primal in this form but when he created a copy of Optimal Optimus he trashed Primal.

g1 Prime is just too flawless.. :redface he's kind of up there with Superman and Goku.. and I find both characters pretty boring in general.. but that's just my spin on it.

Primal, I think, was the best 'Prime' .. because he wasn't like the second comming of Jesus or anything. He was just a guy, stuck in a bad situation trying to keep this uprising under control and getting his crew home.

Best Megatron is the beast rendition on scope of character. Even when his devices backfired, he came out learning something.. well, most of the time. He kicked ass, and took names.. even just being down right sneaky in his execution.. None of his schemes were of a total loss. He had that good balance of watching over his troops, while not really caring about them too much so his 'villiany' is never questioned. He was competent.. and I give him a lot of credit for not falling into the typical 'saturday morning villian' stereotype.

Going by Alt Modes.. Prime in his RiD Version. Energon Megatron.
