G1 Megatron all the way. The rest are just pretenders

 

 

As much as I hate the guy I have to give him his due. At times he got the best of Prime but it was his irrational thinking that always cost him in the end. Now as far as the toy goes I think it sucked. The Galvatron toy was MUCH better.

 

 

Just my thoughts.

I read some where that approximately 25 Autobots died in the enitial battle most of whom were killed by Megs and lets not forget G1 Megs was the only one to ever kill Optimus Prime and then after Prime he as Galvatron ripped UM to shreds if they hadn`t been on the planet of junk he would have died as well. Also before the Movie he had already taken control of Cybertron. Iread that someone said that Armada Megs was respected by his troops so was G1 Megs. The only one that didn`t respect him was Starscream but does he really respect anyone but him self? :Dc

I'm surprised more people don't like the G1 Megatron toy.

 

In terms of realism, it's so real you could get shot by a cop if you're walking around with it. Let's not forget those lovable METAL PARTS, so there was more of a sense of weight and presence to the toy.

 

He looks terrific. I mean, if you wanna talk oldschool, this bad boy's from 70s and has no problem showing it off. I like the face even though it didn't match up with the cartoon very well. Great color scheme, very lifeless, as you would tend to expect from a master of evil.

 

Now for extras, look at the alt mode. A scope, silencer, and shoulder rest atachment? Freakin' sweet! Not to mention that they turn into the arm cannon *and* a big mounted ground cannon for the figure.

 

Now, the Japanese exclusive parts-- it shoots little bullets! You can annoy the hell out of people with this! The sword and gun, while a little out of place on our mental image of G1 Megs, at least look cool.

 

G1 Galvatron, while a cool toy, was still inferior in my opinion. It looked nothing like the character from the show (far, far less than toys Megs reselmbed show Megs). It had some plusses in terms of battery powered lights and sound effects, and it did have three modes. But I've always preferred the gritty realism of the Megatron P-38 to the out-there futuristic ray gun that Galvatron was.

 

BW Megatron was a kickass toy, I will grant. The water-squirting T-Rex was excellent. But man, would it have hurt ro give the poor guy at least 1 hand? Tank Megs was okay, but a little lackluster given his size. RiD Megs was cool, but by then he had strayed so far from the original look and concept that there is just no comparison.

 

I LOVE Armada Megs. In terms of fitting the play theme of the toy line, they don't get much better. He's got more Mini-con pegs than a dog has fleas. The color scheme and design were nice. Of course, I would have liked more poseability and a head that more closely resembled G1 Megs. Energon Megs-- nice homage, but like G2 tank Megs, he seemed lackluster for his size and price point.

G1 Megatron, since he's the original and had a part to play in helping BW Megatron (via golden disk).

 

that said, my choices are:

BW/BM Megatron (came close to killing Optimus Prime on prehistoric earth and took over all of cybertron upon returning)

Armada/Energon Megatron (had the respect of his decepticons, including Starscream, and was a virtual bad@$$ in Energon with his body and possession of Unicron)

 

btw, Armada Starscream did respect Megatron like the other decepticons. it's just that the reason why he was bitter was because Megatron did not take notice of Starscream's attempts to prove himself as a capable warrior and a faithful servant to the Decepticon cause. to sum it up, the deal between Starscream and Megatron in Armada was that Starscream did not want to become leader, but he just wanted to be recognised for all that he's done.

BW/BM Megatron is definately the best written character. Yessss. He screwed with G1 history and enslaved every TF on Cybertron in a really unique way.

 

G1 Megatron comes in second. He all but conquered Cybertron, teleported the whole plannet into Earth orbit, killed a ton of Autobots in the movie - including Optimus Prime. Anyone upset over how he killed Prime is forgetting that Megatron is the bad guy! All those wacky episodes like "Let's shrink the Autobots!" and "Let's freeze the Autobots in vehicle mode!" are done in the proud tradition of kids' cartoons. Even the Ninja Turtles got shrunk.

 

Energon Megs was by far the most powerful. And even more so when he got his Mini-Con. The kickback on his gun was amazing and hilarious at the same time.

Did BW Megatron accomplish what HE sought to? Yes

 

No, in Beast Wars he wanted to find Energon and reconquer Cybertron. At the end of Beast Wars he was a prisoner of the enemy.

actually he had been planning on finding the ark the whole time. when hes speaking to ravage he said that the energon was merely a bonus. also i beleive bw megs to be the best. i mean he could have destroyed the entire space-time continuem doing what he did in the ark. you can argue that "almost" doesnt cut it. but after all the actual accomplishments of all the megs they were all still ultimately defeated. even when optimus prime was killed in he movie, its not like he didnt come back.

Overloard sorta Became a Destron Leader in Victory-just in a diferent secter than Dezarus, he had a camio of the surviving Master Force Detrons fighting the Cybertron Headmasters

BW Megatron.

G1 come first

Energon come second but

Armada come third

Mine are both the G1s. Prime at his best. Megs at his baddest. Apart from BW none of the others even come close
