Yes,we agree he doesn't come with any mech-tech weapons.

I did notice the DOTM Leader sized ironhide toy. does have the mech-tech connector ports on the toy.

It's worth mentioning that the only DOTM Leader sized Ironhide doesn't have any Mech tech weapons. he has no mech tech external weapon that can pop on/off in his hands or his connector ports on his body.

DOTM Leader sized ironhide has 2003 energon styled internal hyper mode weapons.

He has holes on the truck panel kibble on his shoulders that - deliberately or not - work as Mechtech weapon ports. Since this is a DOTM figure, I'm inclined to think it's deliberate. i don't recall if it's in the instructions or not - didn't really use them. And his fist holes can hold MT weapons.

He may not come with Mechtech weapons, but he does support them.

This time of year is a different animal in the retail world. The priority isn't selling toys like it is during the holidays. Retailers generally tend to gear their best pricing for the times where the product sees the highest demand. After the holidays, the prices typically get bumped in part due to the fact that so many people are spending gift cards and gift cash so don't pay as much attention to the cost as someone spending money out of pocket.

The priority in overall sales switches around to other parts. The only thing retailers want, is the aisle to not be empty.

The early indications are that that pricing is consistent to what we're going to see with the Prime figures when they are widely released. Save for TRU who is really jacking the hell out of the prices on them right now.

How retailers handle the actual pricing vs. the MSRP often tends to be up and down. Just happens that right now it's on the higher end. Wait until toy buying season really gets going again and then we'll see.

The reactions to whatever gimmick are always the same. Those that hate tend to only see the others who agree with them and less of those who don't. I guess that works a bit both ways here at times.

Bottom line is, DOTM never got the chance to hit it's stride like other lines did. Take only the original molds. Granted, even though I don't mind having them, I would trade Jolt, Skids, Mudflap, and all of the repaints and exclusives combined (save the deluxe Optimus) for the handful of figures that are now cancelled.

I scratch my head over this, I really do.

Shockwave is awesome.

Voyager Megatron was the best Megatron figure of all 3 movies IMO.

The Wreckers we got, could have been better coordinated but I thought were for the most part fine. I love Topspin!

Leader Ironhide is fantastic!

Leader Sentinel is nothing to sneeze at either, and the leader BB got a bad rap cuz of the big ass mechtech thingy but is another great figure.

Deluxe Ratchet was a bit better than the previous deluxe version that actually had one of the nicer mechtech weapons.

Sideswipe had much better and more free range of movement than ROTF did not to mention more sleek.

I like voyager Optimus, but hey if you don't the deluxe Optimus is a very nice alternaive considering there are enough voyager Optimus figures already.

A g1 style red Ironhide. Oh yeah...you bet folks wanted that one!

And Ultimate Optimus is a lot more fun than people give it credit for. I enjoy the hell out of it!

Cyberverse is also a blast. I was hoping for a lot more of it.

I don't want to get bogged down going back over everything, but a great deal of the figures themselves were so much better than people gave them credit for and it all starts with the mechtech..a gimmick that for once didn't compromise the figures and it still isn't enough.

At the end of the day, the lack of selection hurt the overall success of the line. It was poorly handled before they even started coming out. Whatever they had in mind during the planning for this line I'll never know and at this point don't care. Note to Hasbro...FIX IT ALREADY!!!
