Did anyone else cancel (or not even bother with) a preorder for MP10?

I still feel ripped off over MP 9, and none of the pics I see for MP10 make him seem like he is worth $250 so I canceled my preorder the other day. Hopefully we will get a Hasbro version (sans trailer of course) for around $60 like we did Rodimus.

I also cant wait to see what kind of QC fiasco MP10 brings along. Do you think HasTak learned from MP9, or are we in for another hot plastic mess? I dont expect it to be perfect, but at the current Masterpiece price point they should be. Maybe I am a little too cynical, but I dont think that just because they "fixed" TRU Rodimus it means MP10 wont repeat past failures. I am crossing my fingers for it to go on clearance like MP9 - I actually like trailers.

I dont know about you, but if MP10 is a piece of junk I will have to quit collecting the Masterpiece line. I just dont think I can take the disappointment anymore. I really like the first Prime, Grimlock and seaker molds. Megs is tolerable too. But two high priced duds in a row is too much for me.

I'll wait for a very good sale on MP-10. The toy is mildly interesting and is nothing that I need in my collection.

i want him but i'm willing to take the chance and see if it goes on sale. I had it pre ordered but recently cancelled it. Does anyone remember what MP-4 was priced at?

I want to say MP 4 was $250 initially. I waited on him too and got it for $200. BBTS lists him at $200, but its out of stock. If it turns out MP10 is not craptastic, I could see spending $200 on it. MP9 would have been worth $210 if it were not for the QC.

Another thing about MP10 is the gimmicks. I could care less about a fold up gun or Spike figurine. Although I like the Diaclone reference of having a pilot/driver, and I love the G1 reference to Spike, there is not enough value in these things to support the price. I would even bet that the gun itself loses a lot of G1 likeness because of the fold up gimmick, and the alt mode will suffer because of the design to add the pilot in the cab.

I give Takara credit including roller this time around though - a glaring omission from MP4.

actually, I think that MP-04 was originally around the $200 mark.. I think. Might be a bit off, but I don't think it was $250. I remember debating with myself and asking my gf at the time if she'd be ok with me snagging it. As for MP-10, I have it on pre-order still, and I know the card that they would try to use doesn't have the funds on it, so I'm HOPING it won't go through (though at the same time I am), but that would give me a little time to try to find some reviews on it, and gather the money if I like what is said.

I might get it if it goes on clearance, but BBTS would have to mark it down by at least 50% before I will consider it

I already have a MP Optimus...well 1st Hasbro Release...and there is no way I'll drop money on a "scaled down" version of a figure that has been done to death already in the MP line. I still don't see why Takara couldn't do a Galvatron or better Ultra Magnus w/ Armor. Now those 2 I wouldn't mind dropping money on.

I want this new one myself cause I dig the redesigned look, but Rodimus put some doubt out there for me on how they are handling production, and price is starting to become an issue considering the ongoing retail and 3rd party pieces coming out of late.

I didn't even bother pre-ordering. The Japanese MP Rodimuses are just rip offs. Yeah, the paint apps are nicer, and even if they fix some of the mould issues, at the end of the day you're paying a lot more for an oversized version of the G1 trailer.

I hope they also fix the issue of the trailer scraping the spoiler too. But I'm not gonna bother with it.

    • Just got a new laptop, so I'm hoping this site won't crash my computer anymore. Anyway, I made the joke elsewhere that this is RotF Nightbeat and RotF Divebomb. The alt modes and colors mostly line up. And I love that ring shield. Of course the ring is a shield. You know, because when Sonic gets hit he loses rings. So it's just like a shield for him.  Dear Primus though. This laptop is trying to incorrectly correct me all the fucking time. The grammar check is very off. And no, it's not because my grammar sucks. It's rather good actually. They keep wanting to put commas where they shouldn't go in those instances. In most circumstances they'd go after the words they suggest. However not in the ways I used the words. Putting the pause where they're suggesting changes the entire sentence. For instance, they wanted me to put a comma after the "of course" and before "the ring is a shield".  It would've changed what I was trying to get across at that point.
