DOTM = Fail

I could have told you this line sucked just by looking at them. In fact, the entire movie line (TF, RotF and DotM) sucks! Bad robot designs are bad. First time in a TF line where I prefer the alt modes over the robot modes. :doh

Perhaps that's the problem, you've only been looking. I always find figures to be better once they are in hand.

Folks gotta do better than "plastic quality" and "ugly mechtech weapons" to justify the hate. Not even the lack of paint apps holds water with me. The engineering is mostly solid.

For Deluxe, Starscream/Thundercracker are amazing. The new BB and Nitro BB are the best BB's of the bunch we've gotten. Ratchet is the best version of Ratchet we've gotten hands down. Laserbeak is surprisingly fun. Barricade finally does the deluxe size figure some justice. The wreckers rule! Crankcase just looks brutally mean! (granted the wheels look goofy in his alt mode), and deluxe Optimus ROCKS! I have him on a shelf with my Prime Optimus and they look fantastic together.

The 3 leaders are all worth buying especially at some of the reduced costs using various sales and coupons, one could have gotten them for $30 each if they had gotten them at the right time.

Voyagers most disappointing because of the lack of figures made. Should be no less than 10. Megatron is the best! Shockwave is great! Skyhammer is next best tied probably with SP. OP 2nd to last with Ironhide being last. Ironhide simply because of the odd arms, but they are all still fun and they all look great on the shelf...which should be the most important thing at the end of the day.

Cyberverse is a mixed bag among fans, but I think most have generally liked them. They are like the animated activators without the crappy springformer gimmick.

The HA line gets an incomplete score from me. Only 2 new molds at this point...one great, and one that is OK. The basic HA's though is another story. FUN but something you can skip if you don't really care for them. The fact they have weapons modes for the larger bots is what made them must have for me! That is a cool feature.

I think this lines legacy will be REPAINTS! We got hammered with them. Wouldn't be so bad if a lot of them weren't so good! The trans-scanning figures are pretty awesome. Cyberfire BB just looks insane! And anytime you do a g1 seeker repaint of a Starscream that's going to be a gotta have. Just hope we at least get that Skywarp too.

Let's break down what the conservative TF shopper could have gotten with this line had they waited for all of the right sales to do their shopping.

Cyberverse between $7-$7.50 on sale.

Deluxe (so far) between $9-$11.

Voyagers $17.99-$19.99

Leaders $30-$35

That's just the breakdown of what major figures you could have gotten with sales. Coupons on top of sales brought some prices even lower, and TRU with BOGO sales every other week was another way to save a lot. So as far as value goes, it's pretty hard to beat what this line has offered.

I got most of my figures on the first day the line came out. Walmart had the $9+ deluxes and $18.98 voyagers. ROTF was $12.99 deluxe and up to $22.99 at some places with the voyagers on the first day. Big difference!

If prices had not been lowered a bit for the changes made in this line I would have understood a lot more of the gripes. However, considering we've gotten a pretty good bang for the buck with what we HAVE gotten, I can't see why anyone would feel a letdown except for simply not getting more.

That's too bad Ice, I prefer the Movie Alt modes and the line has a lot of nice refreshing takes on the Transformers and I hope Takara and Hasbro keep making figures based on the movies designs, They are way better then most of the crap hasbro has been spewing out for years. And I would rather have Hasbro cancel the Prime line and keep the movies figures coming

I too hate the DoTM line......Bought 1 fig from this line which is Spacecase who went into my Generations lineup.

Its funny......The only fig I bought from Revenge of the Fallen was Terradive who went into my Generation line too.

I hate all the Movie TFs... too insect looking. Bring back alts and classics and I will be happy :D

I like the DoTM figures that I got. I skipped on alot of the reoccuring figures but Leader Ironhide & Voyager Megatron are awesome!

Alot of people never liked the movie line, I have. The designs, details, and inovations are a fresh breath of air to me that pushes a evnvelope that was very stale after AEC.

My issue, is Hasbro. I was dissapointed with their ROTF offering in retail, there was so much more they could have put out there. DoTM though, with so many awesome bots they should be working on, it was like wave one with Optimus in every scale then "OK we're just gonna bleed this out with Optimus"

I love the designs, I want the figures, but if all they're doing is the same guy over well, thats just bad marketing.

I totally agree, the line itself is epic fail. HOWEVER, through a series of smart buys, I have yet to acquire a figure in this line I've been TOTALLY disappointed with. I've been avoiding the figures that are obviously shit, in favor of the few good ones. Since I have relatively few DOTM figures, I'll list what I've got here:

1. DX Starscream

2. DX Optimus Prime

3. DX Ratchet

4. Voyager Megatron

5. Voyager Shockwave

6. Voyager Skyhammer

7. Cyberverse Blackout, Ironhide, Megatron, Optimus, Sentinel, and Powerglide

I will admit, I was let down by both versions of Megatron...really, Hasbro? No shotguns? In favor of stupid mechtech? Whatever.

There are still quite a few DOTM figures I'd like to get. But I could literally count those figures out & be done with the line...whereas with lines like Generations, Classics, etc, I'm in line for whatever figures they come out with next. This line is TINY, full of repaints, and general FAIL!!! (but you already said that. :) )

And that is the main thing, just skip the ones you don't like and you will be ok.

I've only bought the following myself

Ultimate: Optimus Prime

Leaders: Ironhide, Sentinel Prime

Voyagers: Shockwave, Skyhammer, Megatron, Fire Burst Optimus Prime

Deluxes: Roadbbuster, Topspin, Starscream, Thundercracker, Laserbeak, Crankcase

HA: Bumblebee, Roadbuster

HA Basic: Thunderhead, Backfire

Cyberverse: Powerglide, Hatchet

Takara Deluxe: Vortex, Air Raid, Skywarp

Jetwing Prime

As long as you stick with the ones you want instead of trying to get every single one, the line is a top one.

Also the Majority of the Figures are more in tune with Adult collecting and not as much with kid toys

You know, I really did hate Voyager Optimus for a looong time. Then after the movie I had to have him. I know it was a buy based puerly on emotion and nostalgia but I don't regret buying DOTM Voyager Optimus. He's pretty skinny but the real fun factor of a toy is built into this toy. For a few days I was NOT able to put this guy down and even now I think he's pretty great great.

Only other figure I have in the selection is DOTM Sidearm Sideswipe which is an absolute WIN for me. I'll be getting the Wreckers and Skyhammer...Shockwave and maybe Megs and Thundercracker and I'm just waiting to see what HA Soundwave will look loike in the flesh because I'm pretty excited to see it myself but all in all I'm very impressed with the line on a whole.

What? Am I the only one investing in the twins? ~_~'

With the movie figures not really changing, it's hard to stay interested in the same character over & over again.

I got the Cyberverse preview Prime free but beyond that Leader Battle Hooks Prime is the last movie prime I got.

Unless they bring the Takara Jetwing prime over, otherwise I'm done with this version of Prime.

Bumblebee, Battleblades was my last version but there's a evil looking one on the horizon that I really can't resist.

Unless it's something unique I don't need the same guy over and over again. I got leader Ironhide & sold off all my other versions.

That said the DOTM figures that I bought I'm very happy with & there's a few more I'd like to get. My true disapointment is that there's so many more that I'd like to see made that you know they're just not going to do.

Concerning what I have though, I really am enjoying the figures.

Not to sound ignorant, but I hate the movie toys. Yes, I do have some, and yes, I have to admit some of them are cool. And if I got anything from this thread, thanks y'all for telling me that we will be getting more classics/generations toys. I admit, I am one of those that thought that the DotM toys were interfering with newer classics figures.
