Review: PCC Bombshock Figure

Recommended Posts

I love it when adult collectors try to rationalize toys meant for children.

As a child I would have hated these. Good sense is good sense.

I currently own Huffer and Smolder, both of whom will be taking a return trip to TRU, unopened.

Ok...so why did you even buy them then? Momentary lapse in your "good sense"? :tflaugh

I'm not sure why everyone hates these so much, I think they're cool! There's nothing wrong with experimenting with new things once in awhile...and I think kids are going to love the quick change features of the drones. I guess I'm just a fan of combining robots in general...cause I like similar toys of Sentai mecha (Zords) and Voltron as well, not just Transformers.

You should keep them. On their own, the robots in this PCC line are nice. It's the lousy drones that hurt it. Hasbro didn't even make them turn into proper limbs, with articulation and recognizable hands and feet.

I swear, am I the only one that got a good figure with no problems? My drones lock in nice and tight, refuse to pop off until I want them too, and other than a slight learning curve, balance-wise, I can get him into a couple cool poses.

Everyone keeps saying they won't lock or the springs do this or that...mine has done NONE of these things.

finally someone with some common sense speaks up

Bombshock and his drones do well together. If I try to combine them with either Huffer or Smolder, the left leg drone keeps trying to pop loose, otherwise they are fine(In so far as what they are ETC. ETC.).

I took a chance on these just to see what they were like and for the most part they are alright, but I don't see them getting much time on a shelf or in my hands seeing as they only have so much playability. I do see them spending time in my custom parts/repairs box though. I do like Huffer a lot to be honest since I have not had one in my collection until now.

It's too creepy standing in the aisle for an hour trying to decide if they're crap or not :P ---easier to return them after closer inspection at home. Alas, I was hoping that Huffer would fit the bill for a Classics one---he does not, upon closer examination.

Besides, I was referring to the guys with drones---as a 6 year old or as a 36 year old, I would have found them to be lacking which is why they remained on the shelf and not in my cart. I'm ever the optimist, but not foolish.

I dunno....The combiner's articulation is too lousy. The spring loaded gimmick in the drones should NOT have hindered the articulation. But since his elbows can't bend, he kinda sucks....

I think they are a good idea executed with mediocrity. I think kids are going to like the drones because they only have to transform one robot and they are interchangeable with the other PCC 2-pack figures.

I would agree that for Drones they should have been more articulate, but overall I think for their pricepoint they are a good figure. I don't have a problem with mine coming apart. I love the fact that each of the "Core" robots [ one that the drone connect to ] have Dual heads.

I am also going to use them for parts anyways for Customs, so even if they miss the mark with everyone, they have hit it for parts.

I like them, but think they could have some improvements. Are they going to release "Drone" pack now?

It would be cool if they did that, BUT made them more like actual limbs too.

I was hoping for some more picture of Gestalt mode, for all of the PCCs. Seems like every picture of them is just of them standing there. I'd like to see some more pics, particularly ones with the arms. Im not a fan of the way they look right now but I wonder if they have any elbows or if the spring loaded-ness screws that over.

No elbow joints at all. It's very hard to pose them because the leg drones want to keep popping off the knees due to the spring loading. Skyburst is the same way

(which will be reviewed tonight... and it's not pretty at all)

I read that in your review about the leg slipping off and I was hoping that was an isolated thing. It looks like I'll be waiting for the review for the Protectobots and Dinobots. Thanks Blitz
