Review: PCC Bombshock Figure

What would a subline be without a gimmick, right? How about a combiner mode? Don't get too excited, it's nothing like the good ol' Gestalts from the G1 lineup. We take a look at Bombshock, who leads the Combaticon dones into battle for the Decepticons. Click on this link and learn about him, his drones, and all three of his modes.

Damned shame about this toy line. I have Huffer and Searchlight right now. I like the hidden head for the larger robot that's part of each toy. It's too bad there's nothing else to go with it.

I gotta say, I have very little issue with how Hasbro is doing this. We've had traditional combiners before and I'm sure we'll get them again. PCC is a cool idea, especially how they've been worked into the mythology, and they look damn good.

Now if only I could prove my battlefield prowess in WFC and earn my own team of battle drones....

PCC are terrible.. and they're a terrible step backwards in terms of combiners..

drones are lame.. that defeats the whole idea of transformers.

these things are small.. their articulation isn't up to par.. i mean.. since these are drones.. they could've at least given them more articulation.. wrist swivels, ball(ish) jointed feet, forward bending elbows.. this thing doesn't even have a weapon.

if they can make a very accurate version of movie starscream.. i'm pretty sure they could've given us an updated devastator or superion. it just doesn't make any sense, to me, to release something like this. hell.. i'd rather have them give us more generations figures than this sub-line.. wheeljack, trailbreaker, a deluxe cosmos, shockwave..

this thing is similar to movie devastator.. which everyone HATED.. the only difference is that ONE of the components transforms. .. let the power rangers fans have this garbage.

oh.. and.. i don't understand why the word "gestalt" is used.

(sorry for my "too many periods in one post" violation.)

this is just like buying a hockey stick with no curve.

sorry guys.. i just hate that we're getting this instead of updated versions of G1 combiners*. it just makes no sense to me after getting the movie devastator which, for arguments sake is practically* the same thing.

I love it when adult collectors try to rationalize toys meant for children.

I was hoping for some more picture of Gestalt mode, for all of the PCCs. Seems like every picture of them is just of them standing there. I'd like to see some more pics, particularly ones with the arms. Im not a fan of the way they look right now but I wonder if they have any elbows or if the spring loaded-ness screws that over.

I'm hoping the current Power Core Combiners are a starting point leading to true 'Special Teams'. My ideal would be a Voyager-class Commander with four Deluxe subordinates (I guess a Leader-class Commander with four Voyager-class subordinates would be too much to ask for) . Combiners are supposed to be relatively big compared to 'normal' TFs.

I may get a few of the PCC 2-packs but I probably won't go for any of the current type of 5-packs except Grimstone and his Dinobots and any other beast-type combiners that may be released in the future (Predacons?)

As a child I would have hated these. Good sense is good sense.

I currently own Huffer and Smolder, both of whom will be taking a return trip to TRU, unopened.

No elbow joints at all. It's very hard to pose them because the leg drones want to keep popping off the knees due to the spring loading. Skyburst is the same way

(which will be reviewed tonight... and it's not pretty at all)
