Nova Prime/ Roadbuster

Recommended Posts

Don't care about Nova Prime, but Roadbuster is always welcome into the collection. I would love to see a new and updated design released as Roadbuster, but since Roadbuster didn't feature in neither the G1 cartoon or the US comics, I don't think Hasbro considers him important enough. I'm already utterly impressed we got a repaint in both universe and Animated.

I think the CD Hotshot mold is way too small for Roadbuster---I like the stature of the Animated one much better, which represents Roadbuster's bulk moreso than the Universe one.

Well, since the scale of the classics/universe figures are screwed up anyway, I don't think this is such a big issue. Afterall, if the smallest of the Autobots (BB & CJ) can see eye-to-eye with a seeker, then the small size of Roadbuster is hardly noticed. Classics Roadbuster is nicely in scale with the classics Seekers. Before complaining that Roadbuster is too small, I think we should first start to complain about all the other being to big or too small. The altmode of the CD Hotshot mold is also pretty fitting as a sort of upgrade for Roadbuster. Moreso than the Animated version.

But granted, the size and bulk of the Animated version makes a great Roadbuster. I'm not a fan of Animated (and already sold my Ultra Magnus after being bored with it after two days), but if Animated Roadbuster magnus would be available in the stores here, I'd very likely buy him. But he does need to get rid of the blue parts and have a better head and a handgun.

To be fair, the legends versions of BB and CJ were probably the figures that were supposed to be more in scale with the line so there is an alternate option. This is what burns me up more than anything. Give some minibots the deluxe treatment but leave others as legends. Now I have a really cartoon accurate legends class Brawn that has to be smaller in my collection than Bumblebee just because there is no deluxe version. (I have the ROTF version and he just doesn't fit for me although it's a nice figure.)

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I happened to come across my Universe Roadbuster in my routine dusting of figures and got to playing with him which made me think about this thread. How could you not love all the awesomeness?? :tflaugh

it's just that this guy's mold is so identifiable with CD Hotshot for me. I have a hard time in seeing him as anyone else---even with the decent paintjob---moreso than other repaints. I don't dislike the figure---I think it's a great mold, but it's not saying Roadbuster to me.

I agree, CD Hot Shot is a great figure, but it's not Roadbuster.

Really do wish they could just reissue him and Whirl
