Nova Prime/ Roadbuster

Recommended Posts

Do u think Hasbro will produce a Voyager/ Ultra sized Nova Prime or Roadbuster? i know they did a crappy repaint of Hot Shot for Roadbust but its just not the same. He need to be pretty good size like Hardhead or Jetfire. imo

I think the HotShot repaint pretty much nailed Roadbuster. He's awesome to me. The only thing he lacked was an actual gun but that's easily remedied. Size wise he wasn't that bad and everything about him in both modes screamed roadbuster. He was far better than that Animated version that they made out of Ultra Magnus but were too lazy to give a new head (or paint the one it had the right colors for that mstter.) :poop

I'd have to say that I disagree---I think the CD Hotshot mold is way too small for Roadbuster---I like the stature of the Animated one much better, which represents Roadbuster's bulk moreso than the Universe one. And even though the lack of matching colors on the head of the Animated one was the height of laziness (especially since they painted the Megatron head black), both heads should have been remolded to better represent the character. If I were picking a Universe mold to do as Roadbuster it would be the Ultra Onslaught one, even though it would be lacking all of the crazy pop out weapons on the two discussed above which make them both great molds.

Well I'm not really one to get caught up in the scale of my figures. If they're in scale good, if they are a little small it is annoying but then you really have to think that scale didn't really make sense in the Transformers Universe to begin with. I once saw Megatron in his gun mode be so small that he could fit inside a normal sized guitar case but then be big enough in the same mode for Starscream to hold him. That being said the size of Classics Grimlock bothers me much more than the size of Universe Roadbuster. His awesomeness makes up for him being small to me.

I totally agree with you regarding Grimlock, and while I love all the pop out weapons and the knife on the CD Hot Shot mold, I feel like he deserves a bigger figure the same way that Univ. Galvatron does. I get that when they put out this Roadbuster, they needed a deluxe for the set rather than voyager or whatever, but he would have been better in the Scattorshot or Red Alert molds in my opinion.

I like the Hotshot repaint personally, and have no issue with the size. Another good base figure some a lot of customizers are using to make Roadbuster (there's even a conversion kit for it) is the Transformers Marvel Crossover's Captain America figure that turns into a HMMWV (Humvee).

Hasbro has a chance to do Nova Prime now that they're using comic-only characters as figures, but I doubt they will. Oh well, a guy can dream.

you know...that reminds me..i saw somewhere not to long ago a third party company like FP or whatever is making a nova prime...ill have to dig up what site they are one and post for you guys..

nevermind on the third party nova...i did some searching on google and the people who made it are the same ones who make the classics wheeljack conversion kit....unfortunately they are sold out.... :doh

theres the link to the site...oh well... :(

Don't care about Nova Prime, but Roadbuster is always welcome into the collection. I would love to see a new and updated design released as Roadbuster, but since Roadbuster didn't feature in neither the G1 cartoon or the US comics, I don't think Hasbro considers him important enough. I'm already utterly impressed we got a repaint in both universe and Animated.

Well, since the scale of the classics/universe figures are screwed up anyway, I don't think this is such a big issue. Afterall, if the smallest of the Autobots (BB & CJ) can see eye-to-eye with a seeker, then the small size of Roadbuster is hardly noticed. Classics Roadbuster is nicely in scale with the classics Seekers. Before complaining that Roadbuster is too small, I think we should first start to complain about all the other being to big or too small. The altmode of the CD Hotshot mold is also pretty fitting as a sort of upgrade for Roadbuster. Moreso than the Animated version.

But granted, the size and bulk of the Animated version makes a great Roadbuster. I'm not a fan of Animated (and already sold my Ultra Magnus after being bored with it after two days), but if Animated Roadbuster magnus would be available in the stores here, I'd very likely buy him. But he does need to get rid of the blue parts and have a better head and a handgun.

In my opinion, that seeker mold should never have been that small either, Rawhide.
