Energon Slugslinger

Recommended Posts

Eh, he looks good, but his transformed mode just won't stick together. He's like a prototype. He looks cool and innovative, a stroke of what's to come, but he still needs refinement. He's just too loose.

I can't touch him for fear he'll fall apart on me, and I'll have to spend ANOTHER hour getting him just right again.

And Sharkticon is cool, but he's got too much weight on his back. It's hard to get him into a pose that won't have him falling all over himself. Let's just hope his Energon Character is clumsy.

If I had to pick a favorite Energon figure, it'd be a toss-up between Omega Supreme and Bulkhead. Both are really cool, incredibly well-built, and stay in the poses you put them in, even with Bulkhead's backpack.

Oop, scratch that, my favorite is Tow-Line. Can you say, Gun-Barrel Kick To Head?

I think Slugslinger is great, but I think Sharkticon, Bulkhead, and Landmine are better.

Meh, Landmine makes me feel like I'm going to break him every time I transform him. And Omega Supreme should be good considering he costs fifty bucks!

I finally got him as a birthday gift from my lady love.

I knew that I would like this one sence the first time pics of him were posted on TFormers.

wow that was well over 6 months ago!

But yeah he bumped off starscream as best energon figure.

He has the best articulation for such a small toy; count 'em 17 points of articulation - 4 for each arm, 4 for each leg and 1 for turning the head. This not even counting the verious points that deal with wings on the arms and back and the cannon.

Everything about him transforms, even geting the head in place has a routine.

Now the only thing bad about the guy is the story write up on him. The writers have made him a thug of alpha q along with sharkticon and mirage.

For a character this twisted and unusual I was expecting a decepticon that would be a psychotic mercenary who doesn't care for autobots and decepticons. Maybe a robot with a split personality problem.

Also his stats need to re-written, not all of it though just two points:

Rank should be an N/A cos this this bot looks too nutty to any kind of a follower. But 4 for a rank on such a cool bot, that is just not right.

Then there is the fireblast stat-an 8?!? com'on, his is SLUG slinger. That stat should be a 10 easy.

It doesn't matter, I'll just right my own fan fiction.

Anywho, I'm so glad I got SlugSlinger.

And apparently so are many other fans.

If you havn't got this guy yet, grab him quick.........he pack 2 per box and so far everyplace I've been sence I got him has not had him: Target, TRU, Wal-mart, K-mart..... repeat.

out of all the emergon toys that have yet to be released i want him the most

i just want thier to be a GF trigger happy so i can do a rebirth reinactment only with newer toys

in terms of story i like's what DW did by putting him in a team with sharkticon and mirage and making them like a elite hit squad him being the brains mirage as the leader/brawn and sharkie all about stelth

I LOVE slugslinger just bought him. Color sceme is AWESOME. Cool jet mode too

Slugslinger is allright(not as cool as E Starscream) and also hard to transform

Actually, if you throw out Hasbro's instructions, he's incredibly easy to transform.

1) Split the upper half, as if giong into hyper mode, and rotate the stabilizers 180 degrees.

2) Rotate the shoulders around 270 degrees, flipping the pivot panel on the side in the process (this will get all the parts sticking in generally the right directions

3) Pull out the head and missle, making sure to attach the head to the back panel via the two pegs.

4) Rotate the legs into the slot the missile left behind, making sure they are as far in as they can go and attached to each other.

5) Rotate the hips upwards until they click into the torso, rotate the rest of the legs down.

6) Pose as desired.

I can do it in less than a minute, although I haven't timed myself.

And I agree with the damaged face idea, because he has tons of additional and different paneling on that side.

Oh.. and sometime, backlight this guy, so he looks like a shadow. By -far- he's got the coolest light piping effect I've seen on a Transformer, what with the unequal eyes.

Athenor

slugslinger is... o.k.

my favorite energon so far is shockblast, though, and i like inferno, downshift, rodimus, and arcee better than slugslinger too.

slugslinger just feels too floppy in both of his modes, although i do wish all tf's were as articulated as him. especially ALT TRACKS who costs twice as much and is a licensed product. BAD HASBRO!!! :tdown
