Man Owns Internet with Optimus Prime Built of Junk

Recommended Posts

Dude...Endor or Primus (who ever you are), Yes you have your own opinion but as a journalist you need to be objective and post your opinions elsewhere. So please, do us all a favor and remove the article from the TFormers front page and replace it with a more tasteful approach, it's frakking embarrassing!

For real. We are not the New York Times. I don't really get this thing about being tasteful? We are fans and if someone thinks there's a ridiculous news story going around, there is nothing wrong with saying that. No one was called names or put down. So please settle down. A pile of junk that fan boys on the internet are going GA GA over is not worth getting upset about. That IS funny. And I am sorry, but it is clearly spot on judging by the reaction from a few of you. Learn laugh at something for a change.

Wait, where were fan boys going ga ga over this thing? Your joke fails because it requires knowledge from us about something we didn't know about. That's really why I don't get the joke. I'm certainly not going to think some man's spare parts sculpture is the most wonderful thing ever. I'm might be more interested if it was a G1 Prime, but that's about it. Your assuming that we all really care about this kind of thing. By posting the story in such an odd way, you created a negative reaction that wasn't going to happen otherwise.

For real people. Lighten up. You guys are throwing down what is obviously a joke. :tfpwn

That's what's conflicting about this joke. I really couldn't care less about it either way, but still, just post it as regular news and let us do the comedy.

In my own defense, I did take the opportunity to make fun of movie Optimus Prime.

I don't want pour salt in your wounds, but Engadget called him a clothes dryer. Someone call 911. :alert

Watch out for the popcorn hulls. :batman

Gonna have to agree with the others, the only lame thing I see here is this article.

Apparently we're just not cool enough for this room. Those who can, do. Those who can't and make poor news articles about it, lame.

Interesting job the guys doing..Have fun with it.

Sorry you feel that way, Again, please lighten up and don't take things personal. There is nothing personal intended. Have a good day. :)

I appreciate that the news story was edited. I found the original to be rather abrasive. I've been coming to TFormers for quite a number of years for news and have always appreciated the maturity and tact that the site represents.

One thing I can say about it is I've never actually been tempted to post till now. So there's that.

BaCon-

I know you are going to bat for your buddy and that's cool. But because TFormers site has had a great reputation as a clean respectable resource for everything transformers, the presentation of this article comes as a shock. For those of us who have been with the site for so many years, this type of article creates memories of why so many fans abandoned other Transformer Fan sites and boards in favor TFormers, literally making this site the number one Tranformers site. Other sites that didn't want to end up buried cleaned up their act and retained their fan base, but for the most part TFormers and TFans boards have always been the favorite for as long as I can remember.

We here don't care what other sites like endGadget are saying...we are not on their boards, we are on this one! This is why we are pitching a fit over an article that can be clearly seen as incredible insensitive and with out any form of maturity. From a PR perspective, this is really bad. I can imagine it now, the Chinese news station finds this and the reporter says "while many other fan sites of Transformers like TFW2005 received our story well,it was shocking to read the unkind and intensive response made by TFormers". Okay this will probably NEVER happen but I think you get the point (I'll laugh my ass off if it does :rofl ).

The TFans here are upset over this article not because we think "the Prime" so cool, but because it really puts a "Brown Skid Mark" on a site we love. We are bitching, BaCon because we care about your site and we acknowledge the hard work you have put into it. This article is not the end of the world but we here are making a big deal of it because once we let this go then I'm sure it's all down hill from here. It's nothing against you, but the fandom obviously feels that Endor/Primus's was completely out of character or TFormers and misrepresents what a fan of Transformers are about.

I mean really, do you actually want to be known as being such a "dorky fanboy snob" that you can't find something positive to say about the efforts of a man who shares the same interests as we do?

My first impression of you, BaCon, when I met you at Comic Con was that you were a pretty level headed and understanding business man who has a genuine love for Sci Fi toys and collecting and for the fans who share your interests. I have confidence that you'll get where we are coming from.

Thank you for your understanding,

Ah cool!!! just now saw this. I was too damn busy writing my long ass post to BaCon, hahahaha

Good man, BaCon...thanks for the change.

Thanks. I am sorry if anyone was offended. I don't want you to feel I am protecting anyone. This really was meant to be in fun. That was NOT intentional. We have been around for years with only the reward of your gratification. Thanks for that. Unfortunately because we are not true professional journalists, there will be mistakes made from time to time. Your patience and understanding while we figure that out is much appreciated. :tfgrin
