Man Owns Internet with Optimus Prime Built of Junk

Recommended Posts

Thanks. I am sorry if anyone was offended. I don't want you to feel I am protecting anyone. This really was meant to be in fun. That was NOT intentional. We have been around for years with only the reward of your gratification. Thanks for that. Unfortunately because we are not true professional journalists, there will be mistakes made from time to time. Your patience and understanding while we figure that out is much appreciated. :tfgrin

I believe the man built it for/with his son and not specifically for attention. It was touching to see a father doing for his son, no matter what the result of his efforts. He used his skills as a welder to build something his son probably thought was the coolest thing in the world.. Not to mention the fact the kid is now the envy of his neighborhood. It's something they can be proud of. As a father and a TFan I thought it was an honorable and enviable accomplishment that shouldn't have been disrespected.

it's nice through, you have to think about how much time he put into that to get even this far, i don't think the windows on his chest should be that big but you know it's not gonna be perfect.

Dude...Endor or Primus (who ever you are), Yes you have your own opinion but as a journalist you need to be objective and post your opinions elsewhere. So please, do us all a favor and remove the article from the TFormers front page and replace it with a more tasteful approach, it's frakking embarrassing!

For the record, I am not Primus.

I know I'm "Staff" and honestly I do soften some comments I make in the forums because of that, but when I'm not writing an article I feel I'm allowed to express opinion. I said I didn't like it and made a variety of "to much free time" joke.

Primus was just trying to make a flat article readable. Clearly the response here has been negative and believe me it has been taken note of.

All of us on the news staff do our best to bring news to you all in a timely, accurate, organized, and enjoyable manor. Sometimes these efforts fall flat.

When ever you put your self out you open yourself up to criticism. It goes both ways here. Some people have expressed themselves well in registering complaint about the tone of the article, but some others have responded in a tone just as sardonic as the article itself.

Its ironic, we have an article about how its subject doesn't deserve to be an article, and people hurling wise cracks at someone who does a lot of work out of a love for the Transformers, deriding him for throwing wise cracks at someone who does a lot of work out of love for the Transformers.

There's this guy who lives a few blocks from me who has giant scrap metal works of art all over his yard. My favorite is the T-Rex. I would personally be thrilled to drive by and see a 14 foot Optimus Prime standing next to the cowboy and T-Rex. Sure, it doesn't look exactly like Optimus, but that's kinda it's charm. The guy welded scrap metal to look like that, and that's pretty cool in my book.

I'd love to see that thing in person, personally.

I agree it is very cool of a Dad to do that for his kid.

I think the Taiwanese man has challenged you. Now you have to create an Animated Megatron from scrap metal for placement in your front yard. Get to it!

See I think that is the crux of my philosophical/critical problem here. It has been said in defense of this artwork "I couldn't do that." Like wise, neither can I. I think though is that what I am getting at in terms of my personal enjoyment of the object is, that if I could, I wouldn't.
