Collecting Rules Anybdy?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have rules that they abide by when collecting and adding to your Transformers toy collection. I have 6 rules that I abide by when buying TF figures, and they are as follows:

Rule 1: Ones that are in the show.

Rule 2: If there are repaints, I wait to see if they're in the show as an updated form of the character, like RID white Prowl into RID blue Prowl.

Rule 3: Exclusives

Rule 4: Ones that may not be on the show, but have definite potential to be worth the money.

Rule 5: Homages, even if they're not in the show, and not necessarily to characters, like Sharkticon is a mild homage to the G1 Decepticon ship Nemisis.

:tfgrin :tflaugh1 Rule 6: Last one on the shelf at the moment and grab it before I regret it and wait months before seeing it again :tfgrin :tflaugh

Great one UM.

I did forget that one btw, but mayber it was on purpose. Because most of mine I get as gifts from our nurses, that come for my sisters, on Chanukah and for my birthday. And since we have about seven nurses that spoil me with money or gift certificates that I can use to but figures, as well as my family, and my music teacher, who spends such a fai amount of time with us, that she considers herself family and she too spends money on me for Chanukah and birthdays, I'm all set, and not that I have a job, even more so, so I'm allllll set. :tfgrin :tftongue :tftongue

I dont follow that show rule, I now only like molds I like, and not thier recolors either (the inferno and starscream remolds will be the exception)

but I am a sucker for transformation, so just about any new mold will be bought at some point or another

but UM rule does apply as well.

but a good rule to follow is wait for it to hit the stores and avoid paying shipping (unless its takara, then HJL here I come)

Rule 1: Buy what I like, irregardless of it being original mold, repaint, reissue, homage, on the show, not on the show, etc.

Rule 2: Try to be able to afford them and have money left over for the other important stuff, i.e. eating. :nuts

maybe 1 more, if its a very very good sale. :tftongue

Two rules, ONE only buy what I like! I don't care if everyone else on the planet think abc TF is the worst thing since Bush. So long as I enjoy it that is all that matters. TWO only buy what I can afford with my disposal income. It is as simple as that. :tflaugh

Hmm... for me...

1. Molds I like, or just the 'what the hell' rule, i.e. E-Inferno

2. Being able to buy it, i.e. lots of money

3. Limit, i.e. I like to limit my self of 'bout $40 bucks a month
