Here is the concept drawing I was referring to

Nice art and all, but what a down grade....F1 car to Prowler (which is no longer made by the way). :tdown

I never said I liked the ideal of Mirage as a Prowler :tftongue Just that I seen a drawing of it. :tflaugh I would love a F1 in the alt/bt line myself :thumb

Like a lot of other transfans, Mirage was one of my G1 faves. I would love for them to make an Alternator version of him, but I kept thinking that an Formula 1 car would be kind of a stupid mold because it would never be on the street. Then it hit me. Mirage as a Plymouth Prowler! Similar shape and size as an F1 car, and it's an actual street car. What do you folks think? I'm not too great with PS. Anybody want to try a PS Prowler Mirage?

Sorry dude, but all I think of when I hear Mirage being a Prowler is YUK! Mirage should be nothing other than an F1 car....to be more exact, he should be The Williams BMW FW26 F1 Car….end of story!!!

Your pic reminds me a lot of G1 Mirage's vehicle mode. I can just see that as a Mirage alternator, and possibly repainted as Drag Strip (the F1 Stunticon). That would be sooooo sa-weeet

Maserati MC-12 is a good one (based on the Enzo), oh and we ahve loads of Subarus in rally colours driving about the UK DecepticonusPrime, I am sure the people driving them think people are really fooled by the stickers

Hmmm, must be a regional thing. I've seen a couple in BLUE, but nothing with all the numbers and what not. Oh well!

But my point was, the whole Alternator line isn't really about street cars - it's about 1/24 scale model cars that turn into robots. Anything that sells well as a 1/24 scale model is likely to be used as an Alternator. I think the point of the line was to attract both TF collectors AND model car collectors, considering the detail, scale and packaging.

I'm thinking an F1 TF would be an awesome addition to the Alt lineup, and here's hoping for a Lamborghini too!

we already lost lambourghini (sp?)... since no VW... no beetle for bumblebee, so no gallardo for sideswipe/sunstreaker/redalert.

doubt ferrari will jump into it... but if so, ENZO for mirage

and in that case, Maclaren F1 for Wheeljack!

or vice versa is great as well!!!

but i agree, it's hard to see an F1 car body being able to hide all the robotic joints... it will be a stretch... :)

i am not a big enough fan of various sports cars to say which car is a better choice or better

but i love the pic

I completely and totally agree! Also the Stunticon Dragstrip would be a pretty obvious remold/repaint. It would definitely be in Hasbro's interest to do this character. And the pic that you posted would be *PERFECT*.

Somehow that one screams Wheeljack to me more than it does Mirage.

Well, we won't ever see any Ferrari's as Mattel holds all of the rights for Ferrari models and toys.

Probably won't get a McLaren F1 since that car is no longer in production either. The new Mercedes McLaren SLR, however...

That Prower Transformer is pretty cool, but with that head I get more of a G1 Blurr vibe from it.
